Best video card company

Looking at buy a pair of 8800GTX (600mhz/1900mhz)

Point of View extreme edition

Is 'point of view' a good card company, any one have any experience with them?

I have had good success with EVGA, Gigabyte and XFX.

EVGA typically gets the best forum member support, and there is good reason. Step up program, great warranty, warranty of overclocking, overall good customer service.

Probably all video GTX cards are manufactured by Foxconn. My PNY GTX said it made in China. The video card then inherited the vendor respected logo.

I guess the only thing is different is the support after purchase.

The reason I bought a PNY was because the local store had a special sale for PNY at $519 while all other vendors priced at $649.

Never heard of Point of View cards... BFG and EVGA are the two best IMO. XFX doesn't suck either.

I too have never heard of 'Point of View' cards.

eVGA, then BFG or XFX for my money.

Brands that I have used:

[*]Intergraph (Wicked3D was nice, nothing wrong with the cards, both voodoo 2s still work)
[*]Creative Labs (VooDoo 2 that survived 5 years in a PC in a junior high class room)
[*]STB / 3dfx (voodoo3 works, 2 voodoo 5s still work, solid build)
[*]Rendition (Vertie v2200 still works)
[*]Matrox (millennium 2 works as well as the day it was bought)
[*]Sapphire (runs too hot, feels kinda cheap as well, other than that no problems)
[*]VisionTek (fan failed)
[*]ASUS (RMAed my 4200 about 3 times, they could never send me one that worked right, each one they sent back had a new problem develop a few weeks later (fan breaking, artifacts, fan breaking again)
[*]XFX (runs a lil hot, board feels kinda cheap, but has never given me any trouble)

eVGA/MSI/Sapphire have all been excellent as of late in my book. Schadenfroh appears to have brought up past brands that no longer exist, so I'll mention a few of those too for giggles:

-Elsa Gladiac GF2 Ultra still is running today
-Quantum 3d Obsidian X24 still runs in a Win98 box
-STB TNT2 Ultra worked for years until it's RAMDAC up and died in '02
-STB Riva 128 - Worked until it was replaced by the above TNT2 Ultra (The Riva 128 ran Interstate '76 like a champ, even if IQ was horrid!)
-IXMicro's TwinTurbo M8 still works in my Power Mac 9600/300!

I could go on, but it would be pointless.

Never hear of point of view. Ive been through a lot of cards and EVGA has been my favorite and impressed me the most, especially their warranty.

I've only ever had cards from two companies; XFX and EVGA. My XFX card was excelent and OC'd wonderfully (6600GT). My EVGA cards have been rather poor though. Had an 7800GTX which died in the first month of use. RMA got me a 7900GT which lasted about 9 months before it too died (both of these I ran stock) Now running a 7900GTO for the past 4 months and everything has been going well so far. It's not a great OC though. Can't get anywhere near GTX speeds so I just run it stock.

I have the worst luck with computer hardware though. My Opty 170 maxes at 2.38 GHz. My OCZ memory is very picky about which slots they are in (if I switch any of the sticks with another it won't post). Took me weeks to find stable operating settings. Oddly enough it's more stable with the slight OC then it was at stock. All in all pretty terrible. I hope I don't get shafted again with my next build.

My only issue with eVGA is that I worry about the step up.

When you step up, what do you think they do with the returned card? Think about it. It isn't handed out to orphans...
