Best video card for KT133 chipset?

OK folks I have the AIW Radeon and an Abit KT7. I'm sick of the freezes. I have all the latest drivers. What would be a good card to change to?

GF2 GTS is a good choice especially if you're running Win2K since ATI drivers for that OS is horrible.

Radeon win 98/ME and 2000 drivers are NOT horrible. Latest drivers run very stable and very fast.

Although...windows ME has...issues.

Did you install the AGP driver in normal mode, not turbo? Did you install DX8? And what drivers are running precisely?

Also, a listing of your IRQ table would be helpful.

Radeon's have fewer problem on the KT133 chipset than Geforce's. The AIW has small problems on all chipsets it seems but 95% of them can be solved by minor modifications.

I used to have a AIW with my KT7-RAID, It worked perfectly with 7041 drivers and DX8 installed.

Where's Taz when you need him?

Sorry if this all old news to you but I'm pretty sure that your AIW will run just fine with a little TLC. If your really not interested in keeping it...try the Radeon 64. I traded my AIW and got a Radeon 64.

If you haven't already trashed the card, the following may possibly help.

Loading the sound drivers after the MMC drivers leads to random freezes in the MMC. You need to de-install, then re-install the MMC. Don't keep any old settings when offered. If you have DX8 installed don't use the install option on the main menu of the ATI disk. This will overwrite DX8 with DX7 and trash Windows. There is a setup file buried in (i think) a mmcdvd subdirectory buried several layers deep. This only loads the mmc.

I am not aware of anyone using an AIW on a AMD/VIA system who is successful with the 7072 drivers. I have come across a lot who are not. Problems happen in record mode, probably other mmc functions. TV looks great. The 3063 drivers are the latest set I have made work. These, so far, work flawlessly.
