Best way to destroy a buttload of floppys

Just transferred about 300-400 floppys to a CD today... Sensitive client data on all of them....

Best way to dispose of them all?

Got a paper cutter? One slice - the disk is history.

Failing that, if you want something more secure, you could probably use a heavy-duty office shredder that handles CDs, though I'd recommend removing the metal plate first.

I hope you made _2_ CDs and had the burning program do verification.

You could use a power drill or dremel on stacks of floppies. Drill 1-2 holes in each, toss in trash.

I have to agree.

Burning them might be easiest (although, as noted, probably very environmentally unfriendly).

Putting them through an industrial-strength shredder (after removing the sliding metal cover) would also work.

Mail them to certain companies affiliated with the government. A few of them are REALLY good at losing things.

Fire - very secure. Not exactly environmentally friendly as was mentioned previously, but then, landfills aren't exactly good game preserves either. Chipper/shredder...well, if you had access to one, that'd do the trick real fine too.
