Best way to destroy a buttload of floppys

maybe u could drill through stacks at a time... couple holes its pretty gone

i know they have shredders for cds..but stupid floppies got that metal bit, u can always rip apart each one and cut the magnetic bit with sissors or a blade, things arent tough at all. no idea what u mean by buttload though

the magnetic disk center is usually a round bit of metal, and being round with the strength such a shape offers is going to be far far worse than any metal dust flap. and take a lot more effort to remove.

this would kill them instantly

Keep them in your car and put one near someone's car tires whenever you feel like it. Wait for them to back up and freak out when they break it, assuming they stop to check it out.

If you use magnets, make sure they're damn strong. My bro actually fixed a corrupt floppy once by slightly magnetizing it with a small magnet that was laying around. All the files were intact, too.

3) Dump all into #2 hole.
4) Leave Porta-Potty

Buttload = 300-400 as stated in the OP

I have to agree.

Burning them might be easiest (although, as noted, probably very environmentally unfriendly).

Putting them through an industrial-strength shredder (after removing the sliding metal cover) would also work.

Or get a real industrial shredder and leave the metal on.

You know, they do have to empty those out... so I hope this isn't your usual way of disposing of things. If I was a porta-potty emptier and the hose got clogged causing me to have to get in there and fix it, that would ruin my day.

Then wrap it around each disc individually and watch the fun.

Give your paper shredder a nice test and see if it can handle them

There are companys that will dispose of them for you. They bring a truck to your site and grind them up while you watch. Reasonable cost. Look here.
