I just spent a wonderful day at a water park but was pretty sloppy with the sunscreen....and I'm 90% fried right now. Anyone know good ways of treating sunburns or at least making it bearable?

It sounds crazy but take the hottest shower you can possible handle and then apply Aloe (fresh works the best)liberally to all sunburned parts. Hope you feel better!

It sounds crazy but you skin another human and make a suit out of them......very soothing.

Make a paste using baking soda and cold water, apply it to your skin and when it has dried rinse it off under a cool shower then apply a skin cream, either aloe or Vit E.

a sun burn is a first degree burn. try an anesthetic spray, ibuprofen, cold
water (never ice), and repeated cool presses. don't break any blisters
and to prevent the current burns from worsening find a uvb/uva sunscreen
with an spf of 40 or 50 that has among the active ingredients one or more
of the following: parsol 1789, titanium dioxide, or zinc oxide.

Another recommendation for Aloe. Fresh from a plant is best, lotion is still good.

I was in the Cayman Islands and got sooo sunburned, I was almost purple. The maid at the condo where we were staying said I should take a really hot shower. It totally works and I do every time I get burned. It sounds crazy and hurts at the time, but it works for me. The baking soda thing also works well.

Drink lots of fluids to replace what you've lost & supplement what you'll lose with the burn & blisters, take a good multivitamin too.

I've never heard of the hot shower thing & baking soda, I think it'd really hurt & then the baking soda would suck the fluid from your already traumatized skin.

Stick with the topical spray anesthetic for temporary relief, asprin, aloe gel, fluids, and don't forget the sunscreen next time

bleach eh? I think I'll skip on that one. A nice aloe bath sounds kinda nice...

my mom had skin cancer too...I've heard the "WANNA SEE MY SCAR" line a few too many times. I usually am good with sunscreen though, i just got lazy this time. I haven't been this burned in years
