I've only signed up today but damn this site is going to save me at least a couple hours per week. Not to mention probably save me a few bucks as well.

http://www.mint.com

100% free.

So far I've got 7 accounts with them (401k, Roth IRA, Discover, Visa, Paypal, Ameritrade, Target) and will add my main checking and my car lease as soon as those are available.

They consolidate all your financial accounts into one easy to use service. I havent gotten through all that it can do yet, but just from the initial graphs they put together (getting to that same point in an app lke Quickbooks or Money tok forever) I'm pretty stoked about it.

Weird I had a feeling this is what you were talking about when i read the title.

I've been using it since December or so. It's very convenient, saves you a lot of hassle of entering and categorizing transactions. They're also constantly improving it. It's a nice program for the average person that doesn't want to spend hours entering data into Quicken.

Ya I was wondering "whats the catch" when all the info pages kept saying "100% Free" over and over. Theres no ads...

Though after you get a lot of info in there, they will start hitting you up with "You can save $70" Then you click on it and it compares your accounts to other accounts that they get referals for.

For example they gave me a recomendation that I drop Paypal debit card for the WAMU debit card, and that the higher interest rate on my balance would earn me $70 a year. I dont think they have all the info on paypal though, as the rate they showed was less than whats on paypals site, and im not sure they factored in 1% back I get on everything i buy with my paypal card. But its still in beta, so I'm hoping a lot of these issues will get worked out.

Leaving all my financial info out there in one centralized spot doesn't sound like a good idea to me. They may not be sharing your data, but as soon as it becomes large and in the public eye, you can bet it will be a target for people that want to get that info.

Why would it be an attractive target? Is some Russian hacker sitting out there wondering "How much did effowe spend on groceries last month? I simply MUST know!"? Or "I must know how many subscriptions to bald-headed midget websites QED has!" (just as an fyi, the answer is 2-- one is my primary, and the other my backup).

The only information you should be somewhat leery about being "stored" is your other financial institution's website login information, but all of that is encrypted with YOUR own password that only you (or at least, hopefully, only you) know. Actually, I'd be suprised if EVERYTHING stored by Mint wasn't all encrypted--right down to each transaction. If so, your fascination with hairless midgets will forever remain your own little secret.

From the FAQ:

We ask for your online banking user name and passwords, but we do not see or store that information.

That means no one at Mint, and no potential hackers of Mint.com, can access your banking credentials.

Uhh...if they ask for it...but don't store it...how does it work?

What's the difference between Mint and MS Money other than the "How can Mint help you save" feature?

I'm too paranoid to use such a service. I never write down pw in a text file or on physical paper. I don't use remember password for any websites and my cookies get wiped every time I exit my browser.

I think the big one is that Mint is online, so you can access it everywhere.

Or that it is free and MS Money is not. Take your pick.

Do you have to wait a day so the records can updated before it can start analysing your results?

Use the search feature, mine wasn't on the list either. It's above the list to the right in the popup box.

Sounds like a knockoff of Fullview, which is already accessible for free through Fidelity, BoA, and some other respectable financial institutions.

Only useful to people who have financial accounts. For me, it's an absolute waste of net space.

Subjectivity FTW.
