Best wheel/pedal set for pc?

As I understand it, the logitech driving force pro is the benchmark for gaming wheels...but is there anything else worthwhile checking out?

I have a Driving Force Pro and it's pretty nice. I can play GT4 on the ps2, then switch over to the pc and play TOCA or something. Handy that.

not at all it's just USB. Just plug and go. Plus it has 900 degree turning in GT4 . beat that!

i'm mainly getting it for GTR and richard burns rally, i dont have a ps2 or gt4...but i'm sure i'll make fast friends with someone who does

I say go for it. Reviews look good and I dont think you can go wrong with logitech.

Logitech really seems to have quality control in check and improved products every year instead of making cheaper less reliable products.

screw GT4 arcade racer.. play the real simulators

I'd get a microsoft force feedback wheel used for about $35.. Those wheels are very underrated and are very solid.
Then with the rest of the money, buy an act labs shifter. GTR is like eleventy beelion times more fun with a real 6sp shifter. I use a joystick for the clutch, works great

i didn't know those even existed, i would LOVE a 6 speed shifter...i just need a way to mount it somewhere... now all i need is a pedal set with a clutch, why doesn't anybody make those? (i mean mainstream not professional $3,000 pedals)

So you're gonna drive your computer? A guy in my fraternity got one of those and we made fun of him for about 6 months.

Act Labs had a great wheel, pedals, shifter for driving games. Act Labs is all but gone now for the most part. All they have is some replacement parts for their systems. Finding a shifter will be harder then finding that MS wheel.

I checked and I did find on Ebay a set of Act Lab pro pedels with clutch pedal and the shifter (no wheel). It had 18 bids on it and was at $246.00 as of now. As far as new stuff goes Logitech is about the only mass manufacture of PC wheels left that makes an OK product. You can find better but it will cost you.

Purchase a closeout copy of Sierra's Nascar 2003 and then download Redline Developments GTP mod. IMHO it's the best racing sim yet. Try chassis 2(Jaguar) or chassis4(Mazda).

It's a bit of a pain to get it installed but worth the effort. Check out the forums at racesimcentral.com for assistance.

I got the act labs wheel plus the shifter for $140. I don't have their performance pedals though, that's what costs a lot. Those pedals have a hydraulic dampening system, so it'll be harder to press the brakes all the way down, as it is in on real cars.

The act labs wheel isn't that great. The pedals suck too. The pedal travel distance is short.
