I decided to bring my home network into the 21st century with all my other technology. I've been putting a new router on the back burner for a couple of years now and am finally lining up what I want to buy.
Newegg is having a sale on the Buffalo AC1750 so I'll be picking one of those up, it has just about everything I think I could possibly want in a router right now. My current problem is finding a AC capable adapter with decent reviews. Most of the ones I've found are hit or miss, or have so few reviews that the couple of bad ones make me cautious.
I'm currently considering either the ASUS USB-AC53 and Edimax EW-7822UAC. The reviews on the ASUS seem to be slightly better but the Edimax has USB3. I wouldn't be opposed to a PCI/PCI-E solution either, but I'm having trouble understanding the antennae configurations, the benefits of the different configs and which would be right for me.
The router is going to be on the main floor on one side of the house and my main PC is downstairs on the other side, but the house isn't that large so I figure the 5GHz should reach even with its weakness to walls.
So, any suggestions?
