Dump/sell two 64MB SODIMMS in laptop now = -(2X$40)=-$80

Double laptop memory. Spend only $60....

OF COURSE, this all depends on it being the same brand, AND on the staples manager not being petty about taking the post card. Same brand=unlikely. Staples manager not being petty=VERY unlikely, but you never know.

Most of the 144pin SODIMMS work in the iopener. I bought 64mb from BB a few weeks ago, and it works great in my iopener =)

The boot time went from 35 sec to 28 sec (win98). The real improvement was on my MP3 playback(audio out via USB). I would not go above 64mb unless you just like wasting money. $50 bucks for 64mb is a great deal. I paid $97(incl. tax)at BB for this exact memory back in October. There was a $20 mir, but I haven't received it yet.

I bought 128MB SODIMM for my Inspiron 4000 from Crucial.com for $88.82 after eBates.com so I'll be keeping that.

Those of you who ordered a Dell Inspiron laptop with the MSN Passport 20% off deal, have you purchased this RAM and tried it in your 3800, 4000, 5000e, or 8000?

If so, everything worked out ok right? My co-worker who bought a 5000e had this idea ingrained into your head that you can never mix your RAM, you must always have multiples with the same amount. So what did he do? Against my advice ordered 128MB on two sticks and could have gotten a total of 192MB for the same price if he had listened to me.

Yeah, he would have been fine with 192mb. Some people never learn! He must have played around with computer hardware a few years back with 72pin SIMMs... The real bitch was the 30pin SIMMs, four of the same dang things and only 8 slots! I had 8mb of RAM in a 386dx/40 and it was the sh*t!
