11/11: placed an online order at bestbuy for store pickup for two items: say A & B.
11/18: got ready for pickup email for item A and picked up item A.
11/19: got ready for pickup email for item B. when i went there, they couldn't locate the item B and basically had no clue what is going on. got frustrated after a 30 min wait, and returned item A (happened to have it in the car), told them to cancel the entire order and left.
my online order status at this point said:
Item A - ready for pick up
Item B - returned, credit issued
In my this months' credit card bill, I see a charge for Item A.
12/20: called bestbuy (yesterday) asking what is going on - they tell me that after 8 days the order should have been automatically cancelled, (as i never picked up the item), but for some reason the CSR can't cancel it. CSR said she will leave a note in the order for some higher CSR to cancel (this was after 1 hour). i said ok and hang up.
after the call, my online order status says:
Item A - picked up in store on 12/20. (and charged for that item)
12/21: called bestbuy, they had no clue, i was told i need to take it up with the store as somebody picked up the item. i told them i never entered the said store on 12/20 :-(.
Went to the store today - they also had no clue who picked up the item - they said somebody closed the order, but they don't now who. they can't even tell whether the item was picked up or not. they told i need to take it up with bestbuy.com or my CC company.
ATOT, please advise what do i need to do now?
how do i inform CC company (never did this before)? thanks.

wow, just got email saying my item was returned today (22nd) and credited for Item B. hopefully that settles this nightmare (note to self: verify the CC credit).
