This is one of the biggest pile of BS in the world. I brought myself a 55 Mitsubishi HDTV(WS-B55) as a present for myself last Friday (9/19) at noon. It was at Best Buy and the tv was on clearance for $1899. The TV got the built in HDTV tuner and the reg. price was $2600 so it was a really good deal. So I am suppose to get it today. I took a half day off of work to wait for this thing. So I call the delivery service at 4 pm to see what time they are coming. The lady told me that someone cancel my order and on Friday at 5 something. And no one call me to tell me this. Since it is on clearance, no one seem to have them anymore. So I am so mad right now, cause I really want that tv. I mean that is total BS, I paid for the TV already and some idiot canceled it and my card is still charged. The manager at the BB store told me they only got the floor model and he can give me 10% off. I was like you are full of sh*t cause I know that is an older model and it been sitting out for a while. And you know they run the display from open till close. And he can only give me 10% off?!?!?!?!? I mean they screw up and I am the one who is suppose to get screw for it? Once again BB sucks. I think I deserve something for this, hell I should be reimburse for missing work. Anyone have any suggestion to what I should do?

Take your money and go to Circuit City! Let Aphex help you choose your next TV.

If you know Best Buy sucks, and you know that they totally suck when it comes to buying high priced stuff like big screen TV's, and you chose to shop there anyway, then you reap what you sow.

The only way Best Buy will change is if people speak with their wallets instead of complaining on internet forums.

If they do not take back the chrage to your card, then they shouldn't have canceled your order. I'd take this up with the local newstations' comsumer action groups and really talk it into the manager at the store. Find out who authorized to cancel the order. You paid for a TV wchich you did not recieve.

how can they cancel a purchase?
did you pay for a TV that you saw there and arranged for delivery?

or did you arrange to have it come in from a warehouse or another store or something?
was this an advertised sale?

I wouldn't try and get money for work, but yeah that sucks and I agree they should make some extra efforts to make it right.

Maybe perhaps they should get you a comparable newer "non-clearence" model at the same price. They should't offer you the floor model because you paid for a new set (even thought they offered only 10% off the floor one, which is not enough imo).

Take your receipt, your credit card statement or whatever proof you have of the charge on your card and wait at the customer service line when it's nice and busy. Ask for the manager (don't waste time with the kid). When the manager comes out, make sure you stand close to the line of people there. Present your case calmly, ask him why they claim to have cancelled your order and yet your credit card says you've still been charged. Tell them you expect an equivalent (brand new, same brand, same size) tv. If they don't have it anymore, make sure you know what the closest tv is to yours and tell them you will accept that (brand new) instead. If he balks, ask for the store number his name and the store number and tell him you will be filing a complaint with corporate. As a last resort, hint to him that most courts frown upon advertising a sales price when they have no intent to honor that price.

Make sure you have made copies of your receipt and all of your papers before you go in and don't give them the originals.

Tell them you want a comparable model for that price. That's what we'd do at Circuit City.

I paid for the TV on friday and it was suppose to be here today. As for the other comments, in my area only BestBuy sell that particular model. The only other place that sell Mitsubishi is HH Gregg, which I think they are worst. Circuit City don't sell any that have the tuner built-in. If they do, it cost alot more.

I don't want to just cancel my order because I will lost money out of the deal, since i missed work. So I want to get something back from them to be fair. Like I said they screw up, so why should I paid for their mistake.

I think you push for them to give you an exact delivery time (beginning of day or something) since they alread made you miss half a day, but first worry about the TV. Once you've got them to agree to give you a replacement tv then tell them what you expect for the delivery.

dont they have a record on who and why the order was canceled? Was the TV sold to somebody else?

This is realllly good advice. Contact BB headquarters and be polite. you can bet the store will fix things. In addition when/if u get your tv make sure its not a floor model or used or anything like that. A store that would screw you over like that in the first place wouldn't have qulams about doing it again.

I would have the same concern as Greyd. If you make trouble for them in order to get your TV, who knows if they won't bounce the box off the loading dock before delivering it. Sure it's covered under warranty, but if you need them to come out and service it do you think they'll move you to the top of the waiting list - or the bottom? Will they tell you they'll be there at 2PM and not show up until 7, so you miss another half-day of work for no reason?

It sucks that you missed a half-day of work, but I think they've tried to tell you they don't want to sell you the TV at that price. They've lied to you and showed little interest in making things right. So while you can kick and scream and probably get a different TV, is it worth it if you still need them for service?

Sometimes you win by walking away.
