Receipt Scan

Holy $#@! that's even better.

Do you think there's a chance at all to PM this?

It's worth a shot, let us know what happens. To pursuade the BB sales person you might need to buy the 4 year extended warranty but even this is HOT HOT HOT!

Yeah I completely agree. The closest BB is about 90 mins from where I live, so that'd be a bummer if they didn't. I might try next weekend for kicks, heh.

I got a 37" Syntax for $800 AR just before Xmas. $1300 looks very expensive, especially for a non-name brand like Westinghouse. When I think Westinghouse, I think poo. Mind you, Syntax is hardly much better, but at least it was priced appropriately.

This Westinghouse 37" has a very good reputation and it is a 1920x1080 lcd vs the 1366x768 panel in the 37" Syntax.

I went to bestbuy and I didn't get the deal... but I didn't try to price match it with that receipt scan.

Maybe I'll try again..

So here is the deal. I talked to another BB in Texas. He said they are most likely lowering their price because another local competitor is selling it for that price. He also said that pricing is on a store by store basis and they won't match it. Great deal for those in the DFW area.

Zim: You got a great TV for a great price but it is lacking 1080P. That is a big reason for the price difference.

I got the Syntax too. It has tuner, speakers (don't need the full sound system on for everything) and a 1200:1 contrast ratio.

Hey... did you guys get the Syntax LT37HVS (the one with the built in HD tuner)? That is an AMAZING PRICE! I guess you found that deal here in ATHD?

I got to remember to start coming here again for deals. I got so into the Techbargains, that I don't check AT as much (too easy to get totally sucked into the threads here).

I thought I just got a great deal on the LT32HV for $850AR. Granted, I didn't buy it for myself, so I wasn't terribly concerned about the lowest deal on earth.

I hate it when people use "contrast ratio" to show that something is good. No company/brand uses the same contrast ratio testing methods so you can't just say "oh this one has 3000:1 contrast vs 2000:1 on the other, so the 3K one is better". They use their own testing methods to inflate the numbers to look good.

Yea, but you have to remember not a lot of people know about that.
Just because your knowledge is much better for this particular technology doesn't mean you have to look down on others.

The Syntax was a good deal for what you got, the but resolution is crap compared to the Westinghouse and Sceptre, and you can't compare the two. I think the Syntax 1366 x 768 resolution is poo compared to the 1920 x 1080 resolution of the Westinghouse..

I don't know. I still think that Sceptre from Costco is better deal with tuner and warranty.

"poo" resolution is just fine when most HD programming is coming in at 1280x720 resolution. You don't need 1080P for anything besides a computer input. If you have a boutique upscaling DVD player with a kickass scaler and deinterlacer, DVD's scaled to 1080P do look near HD-like. While on the subject of a tuner - you REALLY don't want to watch regular NTSC TV on an HD set, as it magnifies everything that's wrong with "Never The Same Color". Also, if you have a VCR, a TiVO or some other form of DVR, or a satellite dish, you don't need a tuner either.

How do you figure that?

Only ABC, Fox and ESPN use 720P.

According to a post at Fatwallet, the $1199 price should be for all stores in Texas and ends 1/10/2006 (Today).

You think this would be a big deal....maybe its the horrible thread title and first post.

Is there any way to get the TV from a Texas store and shipped elsewhere (or pricematched)? I purchased one last night in MN for $1599. I'd like the $400 back
