Texas is one state and its population is not a "large" portion of the states. If only this thing was available on east or west coast at that price...

I am considering the 32 inch as a monitor. It just looks so freaken huge and in your face. Dammit, a monitor is one of the reasons I need to get out of college and get my own apartment. Too freaken big to carry around back and forth to home and dorm

Texas has 21 million people, not counting illegals. The USA has about 295 million, so Texas has over 7% of the USA population, so considering there are 50 states, I'd say that's a large portion.

Anyway, you east and west coasters get paid more for your work, so you should pay more for your TVs..

just a side note: At the CES, Sceptre is showing off a 42" LCD TV, the X42SV-NAGA. It's also a 1080p set with 1000:1 contrast, 8ms response time, ATSC & NTSC tuners, and HDMI input. So far this model isn't listed on Sceptre's website--so here's a Babelfish-translated page concerning the product's unveiling at the CES.

But there's a kicker: Costco not only will have this model available online in early March, but they're already advertising in their current coupon booklet that it'll be $500 off for one week only, from March 6 to March 12. Unfortunately a part of that discount will be eaten by the requisite shipping and handling fees, but it sounds as if it might still be an excellent deal.

I picked one of these up at BB the other day w/ a manager's special knocking it down to $1599.


I was upgrading from a 32" Westinghouse and a Dell 2405. This thing is f#ckin amazing and is easily the best piece of technology I have owned in awhile.

I'll locate my camera later and get some pics up, but I can't even communicate how Godly 1080P really is.




I sit about 18 inches away and CS: Source is life size.

can't help it^^ it sits on my computer desk and I have to be able to reach the keyboard.


looking at the space now it is closer to 2 feet, still too close though and I'll be moving it once i figure out how to get it positioned right on my desk.

how's the off angle viewing? do you see a dip in contrast when you're the side? those trailers look amazing even though i'm looking at photos.

I don't see the image change when viewing it from the side or the front. Not sure what attribute controls the viewing angle but whatever it is, it is great

the 2nd Cars shot is the same as the first shot except I got closer to the screen to show that even when up close the image is fantastic.
