Just bought a 3520A and using Ritek media with it. Right now, the ripping part of it takes 2:45 (H:M) without deep analysis turned on with DVD Shrink. My CPU is a 1 GHz XP with 512MB RAM, and plenty of HD space (72000 RPM 40GB). Burning the dvd takes something like 30-45 minutes on average.
Are these times on target given the specs of my system? How much time could be saved if I was to upgrade my cpu to something like an XP2700?
Also, when burning, the rate is show as 1,080 KB/sec...is that on target also? It seems to be kind of slow to me, given that I have 3 HDD total in the system (2 HDD on IDE1, HDD on IDE2 Master, DVDRW on IDE2 Slave).
I'm going to purchase a Promise card and put the HDD on it and the DVDRW on its own channel on the mobo...would this also increase my burning speeds somewhat?
