25.54/904.8=0.0282 Round it off to 0.030 to account for yeast and salt.

Make them at home. Sure there's some planning ahead to be done, but even with those basic ingredients, it's better than those chain pizzas.

why would buy tomato sauce when you can make your own for cheaper? if you plan ahead you could probably plant your own tomatoes and save even more. Or you could sell some tomatoes and use that money for supplies.

ideally if you planned a couple of years ahead you could sell enough tomatoes to buy a coal fired pizza oven setup, which would improve the taste of your pizza. you could probably even sell some pizzas for a profit eventually starting your own artisan pizza chain.

-Pie Five 3.14 x 5 squared = 3.14 x 25 = 78.5
since I'm getting 2, it's 157 sq inches

$7/157 = $0.045/inch

-papajohns 3.14 x 49 = 154 sq inches
$8/154 = $0.052/inch

-Costco 3.14 x 64 = 201 sq inches
$10/201 = $0.050/inch

So Pie Five wins

Piefive uses thin crust while PJ and Costco have thicker crusts. Not pan thick or chicaco style thick, but thicker than P5 for sure. Thus, what is your price per cubic inch?

Sure, it's crap pizza, but so were the other pizzas on the list. If I wanted GOOD pizza, I'd go to Pepe's or Modern in New Haven.

Roundtable is my favorite. I used to work near one and we'd go out to their all you can eat buffet. I think they had these cinnabuns that were ridiculously good. I'd eat enough to not need to eat dinner.

If we have to narrow it down to an American pizza joint I would say Pizza Hut pretty much nails it on consistency and flavor with Dominoes coming a close second.

Pie Five is OK. Their gimmick is that they're a subway style pizza joint...you pick everything at an assembly line, and they flash bake it. The one plus is that you can add as many toppings as you want for the $7 you pay.

The toppings are actually pretty good, the cheese and sauces are generally decent. Their dough is trash, but I guess it has to be in order to cook in 1-2 mins.

Never having had Costco...would probably do the bogo Pie Five.

I said nothing of the size, it's plenty big, but big means nothing if it's crummy. about two times a year I go to Costco for my 2 hot dog + 2 slices of Pepperoni Pizza lunch. All I can say is I get full for cheap. IMHO the only thing worth eating from there taste wise is the Chicken bake, which ironically isn't that great of a deal at $5. Their Pizza's the Pizza equivalent of Barton Vodka, which is great if you don't give a shit at all and just want to get drunk for uber cheap.

They just opened one in my town. I thought Pie Five was pretty great.

They go a little bit too far for the "fast casual" image, but I guess that works for them.

Costco is the best deal for our family. We typically bring it home and bake it again in our oven for about 20 minutes to get the crust crispy. Ate Papa Johns almost my whole educational life and sick of it now (too gummy). Never been to Pie five (sounds like Little Caesar's?).
