Was cool to see Gale come into the story last week.
Thought they played up the nerdiness too much. Listening to that tape and singing along is just pushing his character beyond the believable nerd we already knew him to be. The karaoke bit from Breaking Bad was borderline.

I bet we're going to see a lot more about where Gail came from and maybe he just really is that much of a nerd.

He is a sort of a pet for Gus, in Breaking Bad Gale indicated that he owed Gus a great debt, at least for his education.

All of the characters are just a little different in BCS. I don't think it's intentional so much as it's necessary to create a story. Mike is a comic book antihero. Jimmy is mostly a good guy who plays loose with the law, not the buffoonish lawyer of BrBa. Gustavo is pure evil. Meh, it makes for good TV.

Hector and Don Eladio killed his last pet much earlier (Breaking Bad flashback where Hector urinated on the dead body in the pool). The main difference is that Gus genuinely cared for him and wanted revenge. He tormented Hector in the nursing home over it. If he cared as much for Gale then Walter never would have resumed his work.

A little annoyed by the 911 scene.

Nacho pleaded with his father not to call them because it would bring trouble, but he had already called. They acted like hanging up resolves that issue, but SOP is for 911 dispatch to call back and send police if they don’t get a satisfactory explanation for the hang-up. I see it happen all the time. Someone on the writing staff had to know that.

Mr. Vargas should have told them that it was an accident or something before hanging up. Simply hanging up was inviting the very “trouble” Ignacio was talking about.

True story. Happened to me when I was young. My dad accidentally dropped a can of spray paint in the basement which burst open by the furnace. It caught fire, and I was in the basement at the time as well and called 911 immediately. When I saw the fire start to spread on part of the carpet I hung up without saying a word and ran up stairs to find the fire extinguisher under the sink. My dad had already got the hose from outside and put it out, but I had the extinguisher ready just in case. The knock at the door not 5 minutes after I called was the fire department and police wondering what was up, especially when I answered the door with extinguisher in hand.

If the call comes from a land line, they know exactly where to go.

I thought the same thing too, but it happened at the very end of the episode if I remember correctly. It could happen in the next episode.

I feel this season started off strong and has kind of slowed down quite a bit. I feel not much has happened the past few episodes but last night we are starting to see a big change Kim.

The pacing has been great and the quality of this show is amazing. The episodes just seem to fly by.

Anyone think Kim is the brain behind Saul in BB? I get the feeling she either crashes and burns which ends the relationships with Jimmy, or she helps Jimmy create and manage Saul in BB.

Also the introduction to Lalo was perfect, I can tell the actor playing him is going to spice up the show.

Pretty sure she ends up dead as a result of Jimmy’s actions. With no one left to ground him, he goes full-on criminal... not that she doesn’t feed into his cons somewhat.

The Germans? They are building the lab under the laundromat.

Meth lab? just seems stupid there are thousands of empty buildings to hide a lab. And all those people know about it unless the plan to kill them all.

Serious question - did you watch Breaking Bad?

And they've made it pretty clear that these people were brought in from overseas for a period of time to perform the work then go back home. They also have implied that they know it's illegal which is why they are getting paid a lot of money for it. The builders also have no clue where any of this is located as they've made it clear they can't really leave the home base compound, which has no windows or anything, other than to go work on the lab. And when they do travel, they are in the back of a truck and have no clue where they actually go. The obvious exception to all of this is when they just went to the strip club and got a breath of fresh air.

Yea I watched it.

You must have forgot then.

Gus can’t just have his trucks going to and from a random building with a meth lab inside, subject to inspection. Recall that Madrigal owns the industrial laundry, El Pollo Loco, and the chicken batter supplier specifically so that they operate as a front for the meth operation. Recall that the inspectors and DEA in Breaking Bad only missed the meth lab because it was hidden under and behind industrial washing machine. Recall that Gus deported the cleaning ladies after Walt revealed what was back there.

Yeah. They aren’t just going to put it in an empty building.

I assumed it was for the transport of drugs of some sort. I don't care (and don't think it matters) which one. We are all just waiting (hoping) that the old man dies and the old way of doing things dies with him (but then there goes the drama).

On a different but similar note, I like Mike, but not crazy about that story line. I would much rather leave these incredibly-short seasons focused on Jimmy, Kim and the now cracking-up Howard.

LOL! Wish they left the responsive design and Hamburger button out (clear anachronisms). If they wanted to play around with it a little more, they missed an opportunity by not having “69” in one of those contact emails.

Yeah, it looked like a 2003 era web site, until you shrink it down and see that.

NM I just don't care enough
In Breaking Bad, the lab was already constructed and hidden under the industrial laundry. In the real world, building such a thing in secret without construction workers about to tell others would be a huge deal. This story arc deals with that.

They are building the lab we already know about from Breaking Bad. It really is that simple.
