Come on, people! "Fring's back" mean anything to you?!

Obviously, Gus Fring or one of his associates is trailing Mike and this will set up their working relationship as we know it in Breaking Bad.

Clear as day.

Of course, that should be obvious to anyone paying attention. Gus is the person who most wants/needs things to run smoothly and would get hurt by the disruption of Mike fucking up Hector and his crew. Even without the episode title anagrams pointing out that Gus is back everybody knows that Mike is going to meet and start working for/with Gus sometime soon.

This would be a good mid-season finale. Come back in a few months, fine. Next year? That's really pushing my patience.

No doubt the note on Mike's car was either Fring or someone working for him....

I really liked the sound design in the sniping scene. Showing that the horn was closer to Mike by switching and playing the sounds from different perspectives really helps. Having the crickets and birds around Mike stop making noise in the presence of someone unseen was also a nice touch. Only issue I had was the distant gunshot sound wasn't delayed.

what's up with all those cinnabon store scenes. Did he get booted as a lawyer because of chuck? this season definitely did not maintain the same level as the 1st

The Cinnabon stuff is kind of a inside joke from the end of Breaking Bad. Near the end of BB Jimmy said that best case scenario is that a month from now he will be managing a Cinnabon in Omaha and Better Call Saul is showing us that is where he ends up.

you didn't get that those cinnabon scenes take place after breaking bad concluded?

also not sure what you mean by "all those" scenes. i thought they only had one this season which was the opening for episode 1.

This thread promised me with 100% "I am smarter than all fo you!" absolute certainty that this season would be 13 episodes!

Can we get some ban(s) for the guilty party(ies) please?

I guess if watching it all at once it seems like "all those scenes," ...but still it's only one scene in season 1 ep1, and one in season 2, ep1.

I presume at some point BCS will pivot to telling the story of Omaha Saul. In a way that is a more interesting story, because unlike the prequel stuff, we don't know how it ends.

That was a great finale, I thought Chuck died at 2 different points, but I still think the season sucked as a whole, too much 'Jimmy <3's Kim' and not enough lawyering or interactions with Mike.

One guy kept saying that even though there was plenty of evidence to the contrary. I didn't get it either.

That's kind of what I was thinking too, if the show continues with good ratings. How many more seasons of pre-BB can they do? They could do as many Omaha Saul seasons as they want, as long as he's doing something more than managing a Cinnabon.

This isn't Game of Thrones. Only the first season is 10 episodes.

If Vince Gilligan wants to surprise us, he can make it happen the way we would assume it happened for most: a stroke.

Nope. Sounds like he was talking about the first season. Most shows have a short first season.

Season 2 *is* 13 episodes. There were idiotic blogs making that assumption early on. I called them out. I was proven right:
http://www.amc.com/shows/breaking-bad/talk/2014/06/amc-updates-on-better-call-saul
"AMC confirmed it has already ordered a second season of 13 Better Call Saul episodes, for an initial total of 23."

This was just before the first episodes aired. Obviously, this kind of misinformation will continue to spread if we don't call it out where we see it. This isn't the first time I've brought that up:

The usual suspect, of course. Obstinate to the end.

The flash-forwards clearly focus on "Nebraska" and "Omaha" bits and dwell on his thinning hair and have people refer to him as "Gene" while he watches old advertisements for his law practice as Saul. If you can't tell that it's a flash-forward past Breaking Bad and that he's worried about his past life catching up to him (unease around the dude in the first episode; unwillingness to use the emergency door that will call the authorities), then there's probably a lot more than that flying over your head!

This thread promised me with 100% "I am smarter than all fo you!" absolute certainty that this season would be 13 episodes!

The only, ONLY, official announcement at that point was "two seasons of 23 episodes total." Absolutely everything else was taken from unsourced sources while "23" was from the horse's mouth.

They ultimately gave bad info, but it was the proper source and the least assumptive. Most shows have a shorter first season and the only reason to think BCS was going the GoT route was a bunch of unsourced guides.

One guy kept saying that even though there was plenty of evidence to the contrary. I didn't get it either.

"Plenty of evidence," meaning, Wikipedia and non-AMC sources (websites and bloggers no more credible than posters on forums making assumptions) saying "10 episodes" without saying how they know (beyond assumptions)?

I gave evidence to support my position and I would have happily changed it with ANY evidence to the contrary that wasn't just some website or forum member assuming. I ASKED for such sources. This is the opposite of how you tried to characterize me.

No.

Do you remember from Breaking Bad's flashback scene showing Gus' origin?

Ordered by the cartel boss, Hector shot Gus' partner at the pool who was like a brother to him.

Gus likely stopped Mike from killing Hector because Gus wanted that revenge for himself.

Kim Wexler is one of those gals that her looks aren't 10/10, but her personality make you want to bang her brains out.

Also, he wanted Don Elado just as badly and he wasn't there.

I thought it was awesome. I fully admit that I also liked the first season however. It is still a fairly slow paced show, so if that bothered you in the first season chances are it will still bother you in the second.

No.

Gus needs the cartel, he is not close to manufacturing his own meth supply at this point. If somebody messes with the status quo it could ruin his business. Gus always had the ability to whack Hector, it's not like he was in hiding. He couldn't do it because he needed Hector. Just like he wouldn't let the cartel kill Walt after Tuco got killed because he needed Walt. Gus was always about the bottom line, revenge was secondary.
