The X-files episode was called "Drive":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drive_(The_X-Files)
TL;DR - the Navy has a top-secret radio wave tool that Brian Cranston's character was near when they were doing testing, so now if he doesn't drive fast, his brain will explode as a result. So the episode casts him as the bad guy, as well as having the overall theme of government conspiracy - it's not just a "monster" episode, but it's also not just a conspiracy episode . Cranston's performance in that episode is one of the things that inspired Vince Gilligan (who wrote the Drive episode) to cast him as Walter White in Breaking Bad. Gilligan talks more about it here:

And yes, Gilligan admits he did borrow liberally from the plot of Speed
Wish I had a DVR. Paying $96 a month for premium package and blast internet on comcrap. Its not even HD, soon its going to shoot up and I'll have to call in and complain. Sad that my apartment complex only gets Comcast. I see dishes on the roofs on the other side but not sure if that's allowed as most of my neighbors have Comcast.
I've heard similar stories of those who also have direct TV. I'm just wondering how long Comcast will let me pull the I'm canceling bluff even though I have no other provider to go to but they don't really know that. I find it ridiculous I pay that much for a little over 100 channels, mostly all junk, and not even an HD box.As a current customer of DirecTV, I'm anxiously awaiting the day I can cancel (in April)
AFAIC you're not missing much, and I think I'm going to go back to comcast if I go back to anything at all

That's super shady. Comcast does give you these same type of provisions when you try and cancel but you don't get charged, when it ends, it just blocks the channel from your list.I agree that there's not really a good option out there.
My biggest issue with DTV is something they've pulled multiple times on me. During certain holidays they'll start a trial of HBO/Cinemax/etc for you to enjoy over the holidays... but what this does is add it to your account which you then have to remember to cancel or get charged the $30/month after the trial is over. They do call you to warn you they're doing this, and when they do I can usually convince them to cancel the trial right then and there. Last time they didn't do it though, and I ended up getting charged for it and had to call to cancel and get a refund.
I have no fucking idea how it's legal for them to just add programming you didn't ask for onto your list and laugh when you don't remember to cancel it, but I will NOT be giving any more money to a company that does this.
I got a real kick out of who answered the door at the end.

I believe he was the first drug dealer Mr white and Jesse dealt with when their career started.Remind me in spoilers who that guy was from the "the other show".
liked it a lot more than i expected to. pretty excited to see where it goes tonight.
lol @ mike working the gate at the courthouse!
I've been with DTV for over a dozen years, and this has never happened to me. They have called me and said "Would you like a 30-day trial *to whatever*, and all but one time, I just declined it. The one time I did take them up on the offer, they were quite clear about me having to cancel or having to pay after the trial is over. But never have I been subscribed to anything without my permission. I guess when they called you, you gave them permission, but your story makes it sound like they do it without your ok.My biggest issue with DTV is something they've pulled multiple times on me.
