I don't often (ever) defend Perknose, but he's right on the money here.

This is how internet forums work, and yes, it does mirror 'real' conversation. And just like in real life, deciding to chastise someone for not keeping 100% within the confines of what you wanted to talk about does nothing but further derail the the conversion (and make you look like a socially-defective douche).

Sure I don't see why not. Its just more comforting to those that have seen BB because we are familiar with the characters and how they act.

I liked it but they could have tightened it up a bit. I don't think this episode needed the extra 15 minutes.

One of the best things about Breaking Bad was it's pacing, and I thought that was lacking here a bit. Some of the scenes just dragged on for too long, like the awkward wait during the trial.

Also I hope they don't just keep throwing in random references to Breaking Bad. It's like the show is winking at you and saying "hey remember this from the other show" -- which will get old fast.

I've been with DTV for over a dozen years, and this has never happened to me. They have called me and said "Would you like a 30-day trial *to whatever*, and all but one time, I just declined it. The one time I did take them up on the offer, they were quite clear about me having to cancel or having to pay after the trial is over. But never have I been subscribed to anything without my permission. I guess when they called you, you gave them permission, but your story makes it sound like they do it without your ok.

Maybe it's the way they worded it to me then, because they've never asked... as in "would you like a 30 day trial to HBO?". Every single time they've done it the conversation starts with "we're calling to let you know that you're now able to enjoy HBO programming through the holidays" which sounds to me like it's already happened. If I never answered the phone they probably wouldn't have started the trial, but once I do I have to convince them to cancel the trial... and the last time it happened the guy didn't cancel it.

Just based on the first episode alone I wouldn't recommended it. The ending was the coolest part and was only cool because those who watched BB know exactly who that is and go "oh shit!"

I'm sure she'll be able to follow it without issue, but there looks like there'll be overlap that she'll miss out on without it.

I had pretty much zero interest in watching this show even having really enjoyed Breaking Bad. When TWD was over last night I left the TV on as I was getting stuff together for the work week, and I ended up watching the entire episode. The show was much better than I expected. For some reason I was expecting a really corny show, but it wasn't like that. I'm going to keep watching for a bit and see where this one goes.

That's what I got out of it too, but I agree it could have been better explained. When he talked to Chuck he didn't really seem out of his mind, but maybe that's part of the story they'll get into later.
