Better ink then Megatoners IMO even Epson's ink.

Swift INK
I used megatoners for ever in my Canon. Good cheap ink for what it is. I checked out swift ink because of the megatoners thread floating around. Also because I gave the guy who runs Swift a hard time.

I checked it out and went ahead and got some ink for my R200 that showed up today so I put it through its paces (couldnt of showed at a better time I was running out). I have to say I printed the same photos with megatoners, Epson Original, and his.

Megatoners side by side with the original blacks were slightly washed out and grey in color.
Swift ink side by side with Epson's was actually WAY better then Megatoner and slightly better then even Epsons ink. Infact the Epson ink had a redish tint to it in both pics that wasnt in Swifts.
This was done with 2 pics on Kodak Photo paper full page same pics with lots of colors (Chiristmas)

I can honeestly say he said his ink was good and it really was. I paid $7.95 for my black and $6.95 for color. It was alot more but after seeing the pics I will pay the extra $$ because I got better then mega and its cheaper then Epson.

Just thought I would give my thoughts since were all looking for Cheap ink but still good photos or prints. I cant say for other inks because I havent bought anything else but it was spot on and little better then the Epsons I got with my printer.

This particular thread has gotten to long and in the future please do no posts polls in the Hot Deal Forums just bargains.

I asked the guy from Swift if the ink for the R200 was dye or pigment in that other thread and he never replied. Can you tell from the product which it is?

Well I looked at the box and at the cartriges and it doesnt say on any of it. I still have the photos on my desk. Is there any way looking at the photos to be able to tell?
I will look at them even harder but all I can see between the two prints is Epsons has a red tint.
Will getting it wet or scraping it produce a result?
LMK I dont know anything about ink other then what I see in my hand when it prints

I used ink from Megatoners in two different printers. One Canon and one Epson. Both were dead not long after installing the cartidges. The black still works on my canon but the color is shot and the Epson doesn't work at all.

I've been using Megatoners for my Epson C84 printer and go through cartridges really, really fast. It seems like they empty in about a week or two.

I just purchased 2 color cartridges for my old HP930 and 960 printers from Megatoners and both only printed in pink even after priming a dozen times and dipping them in hot water to unclog them. I sent them both back under warranty.

I'm looking for another supplier too.

I guess I'll check these guyz out.

Hello, I did reply. Here is a copy-and-paste of my reply from the other thread:

"While G&G uses dye-based ink in some of their cartridges, we use pigment-based ink in ALL of our compatibles in which the OEM uses pigments. Dye ink is much cheaper ink and will fade much faster. Also, all of our components are 100% U.S. made instead of made in China."

funboy42, I am not very surprised that you believe my ink prints better than the Epson genuine's. I have received this comment from more than one person

I'm rather PO'ed at Megatoners and have recently had some HORRIBLE customer service... actually LACK of Customer Service. I'm pretty sure that they have had a HUGE batch of bad toner for Lexmark Lasers and I'm fairly sure that one of those carts ended up costing me $600+ repair on a high speed network printer, though I can't prove it 100%. I had to return about a DOZEN carts that simply would not work and cause all sorts of errors on a number of different printers (different models).

Megatoners customer support on all this? A single email saying "someone will call you". The manufacturer did finally call me and in time I got all of the carts replaced, but that was ALL Megatoners ever did. I sent them multiple emails, letting them know that I had spent in the $15-20 thousand dollar range with them and that I NEEDED someone to give me call or an email or SOMETHING. Never a single response. Didn't matter whether I emailed them or spoke to their answering service, they never responded more than that original single line email in the beginning.

Azo313.... I'll probably start at least testing your inks in the near future. BTW... I've had Epson printheads clogging lately too... anyone know if anyone makes a ink cart with some sort of solvent in it to clean out Epson heads?

What name brand is on the Swift ink? Does it say "Swift" or is somebody else's name on there?

Thanks.

I would but it is Photo paper and to take a pic of it will be hard with it reflecting all the light off it. You would need to scan it but I dont have one
You would have to look at my post count and heatware and take my word that I did what I did and gave a fair answer on my thoughts

There is no name. Just really fancy box that says Ink Cartridge on it (alot of other words too but no name).

Sorry I missed that response. I thought that the Epson DURABrite ink is dye based but I just checked at their site and I was incorrect. They definitely say it is pigment based. So not only can I get cheaper cartridges from you but they will also apparently give better color and last longer. So far, so good.

Anyone tried this ink on printable media yet?

Lexmark has a patent on their carts so no one can copy them. I definitely prefer Epson and they come with full carts when new instead of the "starters" that HP and Lexmark have.

Your profile says you're in LA. Try the computer swap meets like the ACP or Pomona shows. There's one place that sells original Lexmark for cheap, like $22 for the 26 cartridge. I can't remember the name of the place, but it's run by a middle eastern family. I tried refilling before, but never had much luck with the color ones. One of the colors (usually magenta) wouldn't print after refilling.

You can buy a new epson or canon printer for the price of thoes carts and then only pay $1.28-$7.95 a cart instead. I hate Lex and hp and thier printers. The price to get thier ink i sthe same price you paid for the printer. Then the have the print heads built into the cart so even if you refill them the heads clog up very easily so you wasted your time. I have a new lexmark printer I bought 2 years ago. I got half way through the original cart that came with them when the black clogged up completly. no matter how many times I tried to clean the heads they would clog and ruin every print I tried to do. Switched to a canon after that with no problems in 2 years and now with an epson (gave the canon to my son)
My advise is to dump it and pick up a canon or epson. Very smart move to do so and will end up saving you alot of money in the long run.

I can't comment on swift ink but I can tell you another experience with megatoners.
I've been using them since back when I had my epson 880. Over the past year we've been ordering generic epson cartridges from them and i would say a good percentage of the ink carts we get don't last too long and alot of them print in a pinkish color and i have to clean the heads of the printer. After Its cleaned your down to 80-90% ink levels. We figure for the price its bearable but starting to get really annoying.

I have been using megatoners for my Epson C84 since I have two of them I tend to go through a lot of ink. So far I have had only one bad ink cartridge that was packaged in the wrong box and would not fit the printer. I got a hold of there customer service and they said to send it back, which I did, but I never heard from them again. No bigee, only cost me about three bucks for the cart. Overall I am relatively satisfied with the print quality of the carts and have not had a problem with them pluging up. In fact I have only had to clean the printheads once in the past 6 mo.

Oh, and by the way, I just received a shipment of carts that are boxed completely different from those that I have purchased in the past so maybe they are finding new suppliers. I have yet to test these. I hope they are at least as good as the others.
