Took some better pictures when installing my new 2x 256GB Crucial M4 SSD's using my digital cam

Edit: The Zipties used for fastening the PCI-E power cables to my cards are tied in the HDD cage the way they are for a reason. I use the cables to keep the cards from "hanging" and loosen the weight of the coolers.

Actually I had just dusted off using compressed air when these pictures where taken, but it seems the dust flew around a bit

You will love these cards

Looking forward to seeing your 3DMark11 score. I think PCI-E 2.0 bottlenecks me a tiny bit in 3DMark11. You have 3.0, så could be nice to compare

Awesome...... That 2x 256 is a good idea, since trim doesn't matter because you'll never really need to delete your games.

Are you raiding them on the native INTEL controller or the Marvell.

Raiding them on The two native Intel 6GBit/sec controllers. Using software raid from windows.

I'm unsure if TRIM is activated. I know Intel worked on RST to support TRIM when in Raid, that rumor was long ago

Thanks for the pics! I have the same case and was wondering how much clearance I'd have with a 670 in the scout. Now I know

Also, where did you mount your SSDs? I only see the harddrive in the pics. Are they behind that foam block at the bottom of the case?

With the ASUS GTX 670 Direct CU II (They are 27cm long, I measured). I have about 2 millimeters clearance to the harddrive cage. So they fit perfectly. Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce x3 will probably not fit. It is 27.5CM (I have measured one). All reference cards are much shorter and will fit.

My 3 SSD's are behind the foam block

Hah, I can post some 3dmark scores once everything arrives next week. I rolled the dice and bought the top versions since asus posted a new bios to fix the crashing problems.

One trick is to get your vacuum cleaner hose and put the nozzle near the equipment to be cleaned, then spray your compressed air to knock the dust off. The vacuum will grab a lot of the airborne dust/gunk and suck it away before it can resettle on the computer.

Tight little rig thanks for sharing. What are your temps on each graphics card? How far apart are the temps under load?

Using ASUS default and silent fanprofile upper card is maxing out at 73 -74c in the most demanding games, lower card is 10c cooler when I use them in SLI mode. Mind you, I have a 120mm sidefan in my casedoor, blowing straight at the cards at 700 - 800rpm.

Rather than post a new thread..

I received my first card today. It is boosting out of the box to 1241 and no horrible horrible crashes yet. Temps are mid 50s in lotro with the fan at 50% (cant hear it). Looking forward to sli and thanks OP since your posts convinced me to go the Asus route (and Don the 670 sli route) =)

1241MHz stock boost is even higher than my lower card overclocks . It cannot even reach 1200MHz boost (Has a stock boost of 1084MHz). The upper one can do 1324MHz + (Has a stock boost of 1124MHz), as I've mentioned. However, when I use SLI, I keep them at stock because their so insanely fast in SLI. I know you have the TOP version though.

What do you think of the build quality and the looks of the card?

Keep us updated, and please post some pictures of your rig

I'm happy with the build quality and it's nice Asus throws in a backplate. It obviously cools well and silence is the most important thing to me =) I'll take some pictures soon.

I initially bought an Evga signature 2 680 but it had horrible coil whine so I returned it. Cooler on it was also louder than I thought it should be..

Edit - Took a quick picture...I have some wire management to do.

Looping at 1323/7012 right now ( +82 +502 ) no issues so far..

Very nice OP, great cable routing. I've slacked up a bit on cable routing and now I'm jealous.

Had a driver crash at 1323 so I dropped the core to 1305.

Hour loop of heaven so far at 1305/7220 hope it stays stable =)

Thanks, yeah it took some effort to get a nice result with the CM Storm Scout, and my non modular TX 750

It goes high on the mem. I've not tested much mem clocking on my non-top boards, but I know they will not do 7GHz. They are fine at 6.8GHz, so I guess they will max out at 6.9GHz.

I expect more pictures from you when you get your other card, and when you've cleaned up the wiring in your case

BTW: Why are these forums so slow?

Had a crash after about 2 hours of looping heaven @ 1305

Backed down to 1275/7114 and it ran overnight without crashing so I'm going to just be happy with this overclock =)

Sli should be ridiculous if the other card can hit these clocks

Second card came today and is defective of course. Extremely loud electrical noise that's far worse than any coil whine I've ever heard and firing up a game causes my computer to turn off. Tempted to just return both and get a lightning
