BEWARE OF ADVANTA CREDIT CARD

For all of us who signed up for the great deal on advanta thinking that it would be a fixed 7.99 percentage rate after the zero percent offer...Beware!!! My statement just came..and the interest rate is 35.08% rate!!! We paid all our payments early, and have great credit. So check your bills...and spread the word.

oh I didn't mean Scam per say...I guess I meant ROBBERY and thieves!!! It was resolved by me transferring to another card...so I'm not going to deal with the company anymore...but I think people need to be aware

I don't usually check out the percentage rate..I usually only look at the total due..and monthly due was more than the previous month..I checked further into the statement...

You did something to cause the account to be in default. The default rate is stipulated in your member agreement and the reasons they can do so.

Actions on other accounts not associated with this one or this company can cause you to be in default.

I always pay off my credit card at the end of the month.

But I did not think a credit card company could actually change a rate on you like that. That IS a scam imo.

If folks would just read the fine print on the member agreements, and any changes there is also a clause that normally says they can change the rate at any time for any reason as well.

Read the member agreement. It's in there.

over a month ago..a representative did call and ask if we wanted the "protection plan"..maybe those who declined the protection plan became default members...after I called them today they did say...they can lower the interest rate..to 17.31 percent. After asking is the 7.99 a scam on all these websites they are advertising on...

I asked them..where is the 7.99...the assosciate said...oh we do "OFFER" it....

translation...we offer it..but we don't give it out
