Police: Boy charged with assault says he kissed girl on dare

PIKESVILLE, Md. (AP) — A 13-year-old boy in Maryland has been charged with assault after police say he grabbed a fellow eighth grader and kissed her.

Administrators at Pikesville Middle School notified the school resource officer of the incident on Wednesday morning.

Baltimore County Police say the 14-year-old girl told the officer the boy grabbed her by her shirt near her stomach, pulled her toward him and kissed her against her will. Police say the boy said someone dared him to do it.

The boy was charged as a juvenile with second-degree assault and released to his mother. Police say he was not taken to the precinct and processed.

County schools spokesman Mychael Dickerson says the boy faces school disciplinary action for violating the code of conduct.

To be clear, I don't agree with what he did...but second-degree assault...ouch. The Sandlot days are long gone!

Sadly, I'm writing this post from prison.

When I was four, I went on holiday to the US. As a prank/double-dare I threw a paper airplane at my teacher. It hit him, very slightly, so I got charged with assault.

The prosecution argued that because (on a microscopic scale), the tiny plane hit the teacher at least three times. I got hit by the 3 strikes and you are out rule.

So here I am, with my 3 strikes, life sentence, with no parole. Doing all that I know how to do.

Making paper airplanes, and throwing them at the guards.

No its just normal kid shit. When I was kid I pointed a bb gun at my sisters friend because I had a crush on her. I didn't shoot her with it, but I knew better than to even point it at her, kids are stupid though, I got my ass beat and lost all my gun privileges on that one. Lesson learned I to this day don't point even unloaded bb guns at anyone and will whoop your ass for doing it.

These days I would of gotten the cops called on me and went to jail. Completely unnecessary. The problem is parents these days are afraid to whoop their kids ass. I would of gotten a stern talking to for forcing a kiss, pointing a gun at someone thats closed fist to the face, you better not do that shit again boy.

How does a kiss constitute assault. If someone pulled me against me will and kissed me I would either:

A. If she was hot, kiss her back.

B. If she was ugly, push her away and be like "wtf", but whatever no harm done.

C. If she was a he, probably punch him. If anything I'd deserve the assault charge though

Do you think this is really something the police need to be involved in & the kid being charged?

Keep it as a school matter. Or better yet, inform the parents & let them deal with it.
Unless there's some history with the kid(s) acting out before.

It's ridiculous how things have become now. He's a freaking kid FFS. I kissed a girl in grade school, typical kid thing, I'm sure everyone has done it at least once, it does not mean much. The worse thing that should have happened is teacher telling him to stop and if he does not he gets a detention or something. The cops should not even be involved in something this silly.

Kid's life is going to be ruined now because he'll have a criminal record related to sexual charges.
