I got an 256gb 850 Pro in early May, cloned a 128gb Plextor to it with Todo Backup - Magician didn't work - and since then have had repeated boot problems into Windows 8.1 Pro x64. I did have UEFI and Legacy mixed up a little bit in my BIOS settings, but that's not the problem (Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H-BK mobo). Rather than repeat everything here, for anyone interested in the specifics, see my initial post at the TweakTown Gigabyte forum (link below). One thing I noticed since that initial post is that the failed starts are much more likely to occur, or occur continuously rather than just once, on restarts or while the computer/Samsung SSD is still warm, than first thing in the morning or after sitting awhile.

I'm using Magician 4.6 and it says the firmware EXM02B6Q is up to date. Magician's System Info also says the SSD is connected through a 3Gb/s (SATA 2) port instead of a 6Gb/s one, but the Z97X board is all SATA 3 ports, and the SATA cable is SATA 6Gb/s compliant. What should I make of this?
As for the firmware, I see there are fixes for the firmware problem around, but my questions are 1) is that likely my problem and 2) how does one flash an SSD. Thanks,
