Bex Error > Windows 7 "Cannot Copy and Paste"?

I'm seeking some information regarding "Copy and Paste" not working in Windows 7, via Microsoft Works Word Processor note pad. This error is occurring in my Chrome browser. Yet, in Internet Explorer, I can copy and paste.

I've tried everything available to execute a resolution but to no avail. The last step I have not tried is enclosed which entails the data prevention being set to the second check box. Currently checked in first check box. Two pics enclosed. Any assistance is very much appreciated.

Anyone who can be of assistance is very much appreciated.

I was having a lot of trouble with copy-and-paste on my Windows 8 machine, and it turned out to be an issue with a Bluetooth option in Microsoft Office. This option might also be something that MS works has.

"The problem is a Bluetooth driver that adds the "Send to Bluetooth" feature to MS Office applications. I was able to resolve my issue with Copy & Paste by disabling the "Send to Bluetooth" COM Add-In in all my MS Office 2007 applications"


I disabled the "Send to Bluetooh" option in MS office, and it fixed everything.

Bluetooth is not employed, nor do I operate Windows 8. The information you provided is irrelevant and has no significance on the question posed. Thank you anyway.

From what you say in OP, the problem seems to be in Chrome. Why not uninstall it and reinstall it?

Tried that before, along with many others, "It simply does not work". Is there a way to configure Microsoft Works Word Processor in 'Properties'? Thank you for the information. Have not seen you in a while. You did assist me in previous posts.

I have heard that this issue can relate to Remote Desktop, VM software, Microsoft Office, and/or Java. I personally have only had this problem a few times. I reboot and it goes away. It is so rare for me that I haven't been bothered enough to look for a fix..... yet.

If you have Java, but don't really use it for anything, you could try removing Java and see if the problem goes away.

Thanks, but tried disabling Java which is equipped in Chrome. Looked into the remote desktop and that has no significant change. It is somewhat of a trivial issue but it irks me that I cannot find a solution. Copy and Paste: "Work's in I.E." When I brought this to the attention of an I.T. guy, 'copy and paste' never worked again in Chrome. May be a coincidence. Thanks for the reply.

P.S. - Is there a certain way I should configure 'Remote Desktop'?

No VM software, no Microsoft Office (Have Works), Java is configured with the Chrome (recommended settings) and remote desktop is enabled (relatively new).

1. This issue has occurred before remote desktop, so this feature is irrelevant. Tried changing the settings in Microsoft Works from Unformatted Unicode Text, to Unformatted Text under paste special. However, that only reverted back to the initial setting. It worked the first time, then no longer. Now, "Paste Special" IS NO LONGER Working.

* If you can believe this, "Copy and Paste" is now working, after several months; if not a year. I sent an internal request to Google via help in the Google Dashboard yesterday describing the issue. Is it at all possible that Google reconfigured any settings?

Again, Paste Special in Microsoft Works is no longer enabled. There were three options there: 1. Unformatted Unicode Text 2. Unformatted Text or 3. Dos text (OEM Format)

Note: * When initially employing 'copy and paste', when pasting to notepad there was extreme buffering, then the Microsoft Window opened 'cancelling' the action whereas the app then crashed. Now, there is no buffering and copy and paste is attached to the notepad (Like I.E.). How long this will last is unknown. Any explanation to the aforesaid fix?

* NOT WORKING AGAIN. This is ridiculous! And, Now Paste Special is working again. This seems to be some type of game which I'm not playing any longer.

* I've learned something: Upon keeping the notepad open while performing copy and paste, then applying Paste Special > Unformatted Text from Unformatted Unicode Text; the text automatically pastes to the notepad ("When changing the settings") However, Unformatted Text will not stay checked, rather reverting back to Unformatted Unicode Text. This can only be performed manually as this process is time consuming.
