Mysterious disconnects
There's nothing mysterious about this... it's practically hardcoded into the game.
I really hope that for the next generation of Battlefield games, Dice learns from its previous mistakes and licenses an engine instead of again trying to futilly write its own. It's quite obvious after two engines that they have no idea WTF they're doing. There are problems with every subsystem of their engine:
Netcode - SUCKS. With the exception of near-perfect conditions, the servers and clients cannot reliably communicate with one another. I know some servers excacerbate the problem by overloading the box, but I know of servers that are running 1 32-player instance on boxes that are equipped to reconstruct the Earth if necessary. This is NOT a hardware issue.
Sound - EAX. Need I say more?
Video - 1280 x 1024, widescreen formats. Need I say more?
User Interface/Menu - BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
If I forgot a subsytem, my apologies... but rest assured, IT SUCKS TOO.
