I dinked and dunked a bunch of stocking stuffers. Including a Cuisinart bread maker and slip on Sketchers for the Mrs. Bunch of other little stuff.

I'm actually kinda eyeing this generator that just went on sale. Thing is, I don't really need a generator... but the day I do need it, I'll be glad I have it.

I still need to install a generator outlet on my shed but I have everything I need to do it. Since I already have solar outlets going inside the house I'd just set it up so the generator tops up the solar battery. I don't get enough production in winter since it's too dark.

I'm slowly working on a power upgrade for my server room over the next few months as I save up to afford the components, so this could sorta be part of that upgrade and I can just put in a smaller battery bank. My goal is 1 string of golf cart batteries but was thinking of putting 2, but if I get the generator I'll just stick to 1 string. That will give me around 12 hours. We RARELY get outages that last longer than that here but still good to be prepared for a big one.
Don't worry. one day you'll do it all. One day.

Please Livestream it though.

Some CCs give enhanced rebates/rewards for utility bill payments. US Bank Cash Plus gives 5% for example. Unfortunately most utilities add a 3% surcharge for CC payments.

Mine charges $1.95 per tranaction. I make up for it by paying them every other month :^D Fuck 'em. It used to be billed quarterly, which is much more reasonable for something like water. They said they changed it 'for my convenience', or some nonsense like that. Trebling my payment frequency is anything but convenient :^S

i got an SSD and a resin 3D printer (Elegoo Mars4 DLP). kinda wish i had gone for a larger printer (Saturn2 8k) but i went for the tech (DLP) instead. if i had to do it again i'd probably get the Saturn. but man if they make an 8k consumer DLP...i'd probably upgrade just for the larger build volume.

I went the other way. I was paying monthly, using my bank's bill pay to send a physical check each month. They didn't take web payments, so to use a CC you had to go to the office which is in an area I don't usually go very often. But I was never certain when the check would arrive and a couple of times it was a day late. And if I used a bit more water than normal, the bill might be higher than the normal flat rate which complicated things.

Then they changed payment systems and allowed web payments, but they charge a fee on a sliding scale with a $2.75 minimum. I figured out that three months was the sweet spot of that fee, so last year I started paying a lump amount that would cover three months in advance. The 5% CC rebate on utilities negates that fee, plus a bit. And if I use a little more water in any given month, it doesn't matter as it just comes out of the lump payment.

I got tobacco. Basically saved the cost of postage from Sweden. I'll add it to the stockpile.

Just haven’t noticed much to match last year’s pricing, but not unexpected since most retailers have finally gotten their excess inventory under control.

For instance, needed a watch last year that I wouldn’t have problems leaving on when working on my vehicles or getting soaked—-a general kinda junky watch.

Found a Citizen Eco-drive in stainless (faux pro master look) for $39.

Found an LG 55” OLED B2 tv for $572.

Not a thing like that this year. Wait…did get a 20” long, 3 drawer tool box for $45.

Wish they discounted property taxes for us >65 yo.

^^^ I get a 100% discount on my property taxes. Became eligible for a Homestead Property Tax Credit that wiped it out completely. Have you checked to see if your state has something?
