With the small size of the demo im sure this doesnt meet the max graphics quality of the actual game, itd make the demo too large to include the textures.

From what im hearing, dont expect 4xAA 16xAF in the retail release.

Go here, http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile...22&package_id=141780&release_id=306907 Download and install that, takes about 30 seconds.

Then paste this link into it; http://www.gamespot.com/cgi/chkpt.php?s...battlefield2/Battlefield_2_Demo_GC.zip

It should then max out your download speeds. I got it in about 16 mins.

5.6's are working without coruption for me. So is AA. I wish they would get off their butts and have a real WS res.

edit, AA does work for me. I had it forced thru control panel, and forgot I did. I changed it to app preference, and selected it in the game, and it worked fine.

Didn't work, they must have changed the path, do you have another link? In general what is that true DLer used for?

I dont know, saw it on another forum.

Fileplanet is supposed to have it at 1pm today. While it will probably have a large wait if you're not a member.

He means it will take more of a performance hit, with the retail version. Meaning you wont be running it.

I dont believe in that, but whatever.

I've got a 9700 Pro with the 5.6 drivers (not their new buggy interface, the old one) and it works fine for the most part. I do have issues with it getting chunky after playing awhile but that could be caused by several things on my end. I also have a problem with it minimizing, but I think this is part of my IE "experience" -a problem I've been having for a long time that I can't track down. I doubt it's driver related. It happened in BF1942 as well.

I have an Nvidia card, and I get massive graphical glitches, the game keeps yelling at me to "update to newest drivesr" (71.8 omething) when i'm using the not-yet-released 76.45 drivers from www.guru3d.com already.

I'm not instlaliner worse drivers for a single demo to be played. But the graphical errors are almost too much to play the game with.

That's addressed with the included 77.30 beta ForceWare drivers. Install them from the Battlefield start menu entry.

This game crashed on my PC once last night, but when it works it's quite a fun game. IIRC, it was a DirectX assert function, something like that. Alt-tab also killed the game for me. Basically my first time playing any Battlefield, so it took me a while to figure out how to actually enter the game.

I have an X800XL. I looked into the shadow thing a bit more, and I don't have the same as what most people seem to have. My shadows just look horrible. :|

Sorry...sorta wrong forum/window but it's relevant anyway.

Leadtek Geforce 6800NU, stock 325/600
Clocks: 400/750 MHz (effective)
I could have benchmarked it higher, but seeing as BF2 is intense, I didn't want to rape my card more than need be.

ForceWare settings:

AA: App controlled
AF: App controlled
Image settings: Quality

BF2 settings:

Everything high, viewing distance 100%. 1152x864 4xAA. For some reason it wouldn't let me choose 1280x1024. I don't know what AF it was set to. There's no option for that and it was set at app-controlled in the ForceWare control panel.

My Fraps log (10 minutes of gameplay, rough at the beginning which is why I have zero).

2005-06-12 01:05:21 - BF2
Frames: 30602 - Time: 600000ms - Avg: 51.003 - Min: 0 - Max: 100

But looking at my detailed FPS log, I can say it was about 40-62 FPS for me, discarding the outliers.
