I wasn't being completely serious, just kinda surprised to see so many players playing multiplayer on them. They are all decent single player games but I think the MP is very lacking. And MoH is just way too old, what a joke the online play was when I played it like 5 years ago. And CoD2 has worse MP than CoD1? A friend was playing CoD1 online and it was easy to tell its not a game focused on MP. Its nowhere near as smooth and balanced as something like Day of Defeat. And those games generaly can't handle large numbers of players very well. The hit detection seemed weird too, just kind of shoddy gameplay overall in multiplayer.Originally posted by: pontifex

Whether or not you like the game, a ton of BF2 players have been waiting for this. It's been what, 3 months or so since the 1.3 patch that introduced a lot of instability/crashes?
I just patched up. I wanna play but my 'net connect is probably too slow still thanks to inconsiderate people on torrents.
"People still play this game?" Hahaha wow too bad people need to type that all of the time but you might wanna look at Gamespy stats. It's pretty big now. I can't believe some of the garbage multiplayer games that people play still (CoD,CoD2, MoH is a big wtf). And that original CS is ridiculous too. Never was that good of a game. Wish those players would migrate over to some better games that need the players (where's Q4? LOl I don't like it but pretty sad its not on the list)
whats wrong with those games? at least they aren't still beta versions that are full of bugs that require constant patching (and still don't get fixed).
Now on topic, why the hell is there no torrent links for the patch? I need the full 1.4 patch and at 530mb, the fastest HTTP download I found is like 40k/s. My ethernet cord gets unplugged way too easy when ppl are fvcking with the router, so I prefer torrents to get game demos and large patches for resume features (plus its usually faster than HTTP).
its probably because there's nothing better in the MP dept out there.
everything seems to be moving towards huge ass maps with slow gameplay. i thought i'd liek that style when i 1st saw bf2 but i was wrong, i can't stand it, or at least the bf2 implementation of it. the fast paced smaller maps games are more fun imo.
Have you tried Strike at Karkand?
exactly. karkand is in your face fast pace. go play on a 64player 24/7 karkand server and let us know how that is for you
how about iron gator with the sf expansion?
yes i have and its still a huge map.
64 player server you might as well even bother to spawn because as soon as you do, you're dead. or you can't survive going anywhere because of all the vehicles, snipers, and everyone else. i like to play games where i have a chance of living for more than 30 seconds.
I completely agree, i enjoy the 16 player maps a lot more.
Faster paced, more focused combat, more squad gameplay, smaller map, less vehicles.
