Whats the highest allowable resolution in your normal windows desktop settings? Do you have the latest drivers?
this is what i did:
i was running the drivers from my initial install from last winter and last week i installed 7772 drivers from nivida... was having what i thought was lag problems in bf2 but come to find out my frame count sometimes got as low at high 20's (card was set on max with app control) they usually run around 50 until they get taxed...
talked to bfg this morning and asked if i added some additional ram if that would help framerates, he said no and inquired if i had the bf2 drivers installed...no...they come with the dvd...
did a removal and used cleansweep and put on new drivers this morning...
bout the best i can do and have good framerates is cut back on some of the video options in the bf2 menu... rates will run in 60's and 70's (needed this high of a count to avoid the situations where they go down...don't see anything below 35 now)
my highest option in the nvidia menu is 1680 x 1050
the highest option on the video control for bf2 is WAY less than that...think its something like 1152 x 864 at 75 HZ or 1024 x 768 at 60 HZ.... thats why i was wondering how people can get higher resolution...maybe i am doing something wrong or don't understand it for the bf2 options in my way of thinking override what ur windows will do...
someone can correct me if i am wrong
thanks
