BF2142 lack of support

IMHO I would think they would provide server and demo support to show thier commitment to a product they are going to sell.

My question to EA support

I cant get a server to run. I am behind a nat firewall with all the ports forwarded to the pc machine that runs as a server. When I use the internal IP 192.168.1.102 it will start up but will not show up in the master list or even on on LAN. When I use the external IP the server will not start up at all. I have tried DMZ also but the server will not start up using the external IP address. I have tried the NAT resolution that is provided in the server but this failed to work also. So basically the server will run on an internal ip but an external IP

I wasn't sure, as Support actually does not provide any assistance with the servers. We also do not provide full support for the Demo, as it is not the full retail release either.

You can try asking on the BF2142 forums for assistance howerver.

:roll: Whatever....... I run 4 gaming servrs and a website and when somone wants helps connecting to my server or even getting thier game going, I always help. If you release a product, if its free or not, you should provide some support to it. Many people that release free software provide some assistance in getting it running as do many corporations.

Shame on EA for not supporting a "free" demo. Probably says it in the EULA that they don't support it or something.

And if you use Port Forwarding you have to make sure that your computer has a static IP and if it doesn't (i.e. DHCP) then you could try Port Triggering.
