BF2142 northern strike

After playing LOTRO for most of the weekend, - turned to some bf2142 for a couple good mindless killing sunday night. I noticed that the northern strike expansion gives a couple new maps and unlocks. Where can you buy this? Seems all the stores I checked don't even list it.

A non NS question, played on a server that had extra hud icons showing ammo and health pack placement as well as markers for out of LOS objects such as friendly and enemy players. I'm assuming this is only enabled at the server side?

You have to buy it from EA using EA Link.

I think it's worth it, only $10 bucks, and a good time. The assault lines mode is a pretty good addition too, no more having to wait at your home flag for the guy flying through in the car. You actually have to advance through "normal" means through the maps.

True, though you can use the unlocks with field upgrades even if you don't own the expansion.

I do find it funny that it took me 2 days to find the price for it (albeit without installing that EA link service, cause I really want to install more software like that)

For the unlocks, are they free when you buy the pack or do you still need to earn normally?
