Just because you love battlog and metro doesn't me others do. I find Battlelog to be a waste overall and rather just a decent in game browser, but I can deal with it overall, I have no choice. But Metro is a trash map, more so the first part, I like the middle parts of it only but I'm not willing to play that crap. Also doesn't help that I find Rush to be a crappy game mode anyways, I am a conquest person through and through. Since the Caspian servers went down, I tried playing one round of Metro and haven't started the game up since then.

Really? A in game browse? from EA? Have you not learned from BF2/BFBC2?

I'm with him, i love battlelog, its easy to use, it just works. The initial concerns passed quickly. I love METRO, it just feels perfect, the gameplay offers open and inclosed areas.

The game is pretty polished, the "bugs" that people have tend to be graphic issues which are not game stopping.

Don't forget the fact that EA has said time and time again that this is a month behind in code compared to the game that will be shipping on the 25th.

OK after trying the game out these were the 1st impressions
*the game has potential
*very, very fun to play in multiplayer
*it all depends on the price!!!

$60 at release, although I'm sure some places will have sales.

I found the web based server browser worked just fine. I was concerned that it would be very clunky having to alt-tab all the time and reload the whole game to join a different server, but it seems to work well enough. I don't understand people's complains about the battlelog. If you don't care about it you don't have to look at it, what is the issue?

Honestly, the main thing I love about Battlelog isn't even BL itself. It's the fact that they optimized the heck out of the Frostbite 2 engine to use alt+tabbing efficiently and to load efficiently which essentially makes it so that using BL works perfectly together. I found it clunky at first, but after using it for a bit, I definitely prefer this over the previous iterations of Battlefield ingame server browsers.

I like the Battlelog as well. It really works quite well. I like it far better than BC2's server browser, and WAY better than BF2's.

And the game loads amazingly fast when you do join a server.

It's funny how a lot of people are starting to go from "WTF BATTLELOG IS BAD!" to "battlelog is ok."

People don't like change. I for one can find a server and launch the game far faster with battelog that I could having to open a game and find a server in the in game browser.

I'd wager that sometime during the game's lifetime they will develop a "steam like" overlay for the game so that all we have to do it bring the overlay up and find servers/manage voip while in game.

Why would it be faster? Functionally, battlelog is the same except you have the extra steps of opening Origin and your browser. The best server browser I've ever used was in Wolfenstein ET; somehow it loaded far faster than any server browser today, loaded thousands of servers at a time, seamlessly downloaded mods, and had more filtering options. It seems like making a good, simple server browser for the PC has become a lost art.

The only think missing from that map is the spot in the middle of "bush people" where you can easily shut down the whole map with a sniper rifle. I sit at that concrete wall and easily go 20-1 before someone gets lucky and kills me or I run out of ammo. You can cover every major approach from that area on both sides of the map.

I think Ive figured out why identifying whos enemy and whos friendly can be difficult, its because plaques above friendlys dont come on unless theyre close. It seems only when a friendly is close does the plaque show up above his head, at a certain distance its only a little triangle, and when I say little, I mean little.

Just left a game with a hacker. Everybody on a team would suddenly be moved/spawned in a circle where a c4 then explodes. Happened over and over again. Is this game going to have player owned servers with admins or is it all going to be EA servers?

Game has been out in beta a little over a week and its already made such a impression people can come up with such a detailed and accurate picture of a map :awe:

About as predictable as Africa Harbor when the american team is losing.

Snipers on the base...snipers accross the base....campers down below the base.

Same system as BC2. There will be licensed BF server hosting.

Not sure it matters but I dont think punkbuster is turned on for any of the beta servers.

well not to mention he forgot to label that middle road as Engies on Crack... because u typically see them mining the road up the butt... or repairing stuff like crazy.

Who the heck hacks a beta?Is that how low some people online in a game have to be?

The point's don't add up to nothing when the game retails.

I can see why my friend Mary refuses to play online, shes a old school counterstrike type fps player who refuses to go online in any of the new games.

Enough idiots in a game and its like wow...yeah i know the internet as a whole and the world has them too but turning a game from fun into a clusterfu*k for your own benefit really crosses the line.

Einstein said the only 2 things infinite in this universe is the universe itself and human stupidity..

So i guess that falls under the second catigory as being infinite.

Looks good and will be probably fun. Had to wait for the release though as I cannot play without getting my controls configured to my liking. Sucks that u can't do that in a beta. Sure hope that is the case when it ships.

Everyone is basically saying battlelog works great?

I had completely the opposite reaction. When it works, it works fine, but more often than not I had more instances of battlelog not opening a game than anything else. I'll click "join server" and I get a message on the bottom left saying it's connecting, but nothing happens. Then sometimes it would work, but 7 times out of 10 it doesn't.

Also, alt-enter never worked for me, and the bf3 beta never seemed to save my setting when I manually set to fullscreen in the ingame options.

The whole point of this beta is to stress the Battlelog servers. There are going to be issues, but they are using this time to prepare themselves for the release of the full version.

Unfortunately it's going to play out just like every other major release for a game that has this much online integration. Servers will be sluggish, and it will be next to impossible to play for like a week. Luckily for me I know this is to be expected when their servers are getting sexually assaulted by 15 million people all trying to use them at once on release day. The difference between me and all the whiners is that I expect this to happen and I will just wait patiently for the stability of their servers to settle in instead of posting 40 threads on their forums saying they sold me a broken game.

What would you rather they didnt bother so then dice wouldnt fix it and they would hack in the retail release instead?

Hack away, trash the game, ruin it, its the beta thats what its for. Get all the crap out of the way so there will be less to deal with on release.

Yea, the difference in the past was that I got a message saying it didn't connect. With Battlelog, I see the Bf3 window open, and then immediately close. I don't know what the problem was.

At least for me, BF3 opens minimized. Are you sure it isn't just starting minimized? I have to use left alt for Alt+enter to work. Have you tried that?

In the graphics options once you launch the game there is a way to make it open full screen.

Also, i never alt enter when I need to go check something on desktop. Alt tab works perfectly in this game.
