What is wrong with you people? Let me sum it up for you all.
1. Its beta.
2. The server browser in webpage is MUCH better, it allows for more awesome stuff to be added without patching the game. Easier to get data from game. You can launch/shutdown game from it. The game loads so fast you don't even notice anyways.
3. Metro is very fluid map, very fun map.
4. The game looks FANTASTIC. Even on my GTX460 i get great fps (still going to upgrade because I want Ultra settings)

The bugs are minor, no game breaking things. The minor annoyances that everyone knows about are seriously making people not want to play the game?? Good riddance.
Agreed!

Dice's server browsers have always sucked. This one at Beta is better than any of their previous launches.

Metro is a fun for faster paced run and gun camper killers like myself.
I look forward to seeing how Team Death Match is in the game at release, that will be the CoD killer if it properly implemented.

And like others have said "the less whiners the better"!

It's not really that. It's about a company who's had 6 years to work on a sequel, and still managed to come up with the following:

- Massive HUD overscan at 2560x resolution. There are 3 pretty standard resolutions you should make sure your game works at: 1680x, 1920x, and 2560x. How fucking hard is it.

- Flashlights attachments more powerful than this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiUD5qVx-70

- Jittering up and down, crouching/proning into the ground. They had to disable ground destruction to address this? WTF isn't that what Frostbite 2.0 is all about? DICE developers must be allowed to show up drunk at work.

- Can't change your settings unless you deploy. I'd love to speak to who came up with this.

- A terrible physics engine. I've seen people fly 20 feet after dying from an assault rifle like they were hit by a tank shell. I've seen dead bodies clipping through the floor, with arms/legs all bent backwards. I've seen prone soldiers get killed from above and literally bounce off the ground 10 feet into the air. I've seen medics think that they are Christ the redeemer when they pull out their paddles.

Do I need to go on and on about all the other silly shit that should not be in a beta barely a month before the game comes out?

It's simple and clear.

Invest the least amount of time and do as much copy pasting as possible = greater profits.

Typical EA

At this point, it should be expected!

Wow Just Wow. It's a beta. THE WHOLE POINT OF A BETA IS TO FIND BUGS AND IMBALANCES LIKE THIS AND FIX THEM. If you wanna help go report it to DICE. Otherwise you sound ridiculous.

Apparently the word "Beta" does not mean anything to you. Does the game have glitches now, oh yes. As I would expect from a beta. I am sure over the course of the next 2 weeks there will be multiple updates to it.

Oh, and the "Christ the Redeemer" bit cracked me up. Every time I see a guy pull out the paddles, they stand up straight with their arms out. I laugh every time.

But really, enjoy the beta for what it is, and stop nit picking. If you don't like, don't play it.

Oh yeah, the last BF may have come out 6 years ago. But there is no way they started working on this that long ago. They probably started working on this full time right after BC2 came out, but started initial dev closer to 2-2.5 years ago.

First they worked on a video to hype things up.

Then they started copy/pasting BC2

i think he might be refering to the fact that the game is years into the making ,and the small things still add up?

i found it very hard to tell the difference between the enemies and my own team at times

wat? are you trolling? metro is a camper's paradise.

Isn't that the truth of it people make fun of COD but that's worst map iv'e ever played.

Friend of mine told me BC2 was the same and i was like at least i could walk 150 feet and pass a couple bush's with no 870 n00b in them....won that arguement hands down when i said that

I've having fun with the beta. CP was a blast but it was lame when people were just sitting in the airfield or flying/driving away without passengers. Need to get used to the recoil again. It doesn't take too many bullets to lay someone out so you can be sloppy at times.

For anyone responding to complainers with "It's in beta!"...

The game comes out in less than a month. They will not be developing it up until that point, as they have to finalize a gold copy and get it ready for release in both physical and digital formats (the physical formats aren't made instantly).

The game should basically be finished now with some few bug fixes and tweaks left. Instead, it's a mess, which does NOT look good given the upcoming release date.

I agree. Just seems like they invested all the money into fake Video production\marketing and VERY little into actual development (copied most of it from BC2).

I agree, if this was an early stage alpha it would make sense, but a month from release they should have a reasonably finished product. I can't even really play the beta. Not being able to rebind mouse buttons? This was an issue in the alpha too but still hasn't been addressed? Not being able to use my key config, it's not even worth trying to play right now... I still put in 1.5 hours though

Honestly: some choices really bug me.
1) setup options not being accessed except in game AND when you are alive. I can't change my resolution until I'm spawned and if I die, then the window disappears and I gotta try again? Good thing no one ever camps spawn

2) The game is really glitchy for me going from crouch to not. I crotch, move, Crouch but I won't crouch unless I hit the key several times. It's not really very fluid/doesn't work well for taking cover. Dont' know if this is a gameplay thing or a bug.

3) why leave general testers on Metro, it's an awful map.

4) battlelog really annoyed me at first, but now I see why they did it. I think it's an interest/good concept, but in execution I find it lackluster. If it worked like the steam server browser instead through the origin client and I didn't have to install an addon just to get it to work, it would be better.

So here's my thoughts on the game so far:

The game runs well - Q9550 @ 3.4ghz 8gb Ram MSI560TI 1920x1200, I haven't played with any video settings (other then full screen and adjusting brightness)

Sound - doesn't quite pack the punch that BC2 did. Again I haven't played with the settings, but the sound is a bit flat compared to BC2s sounds.

Reload Animations - Its hard for me to describe it, but the animations just feel kinda lame. They lack intensity. BC2 and BF2 reload animations felt more deliberate.

Terrain interaction - I love the way you move over obstacles and diving from a full sprint. Just feels cool and realistic as you move through the maps.

Grenades - I fee like they need to be able to be thrown more directly or have some bounce/roll to them. Throwing grenades outdoors is fine, but indoors with some of the low ceilings its very difficult to get any distance on your nade toss, especially when they hit the ground and just stop.

Flashlights - they are fine in the indoor dark areas, but outdoors they obviously need a fix. I'm sure they will do something about it.

Prone, I like prone, I admit I don't use it much other than trying to advance through heavy fire areas. I don't sit back and just fire form the back in a prone position. But killing people in prone isn't too hard, the animation bug is annoying through when they look dead, but really are alive is quite annoying.

thats about all I can' think about played for about 1.5 hours last night, and wasn't frustrated. if your team sucks you will spawn raped as attackers on metro....ummm....thats it off the top of my head.

The triangles over peoples heads are way too small. At 1080 they show up as little dots most of the time, and are hard to see. They need to be made larger, or just scale properly with resolution.

Ahahaha, that sounds hilarious. I would actually enjoy that, for awhile at least, but hopefully it's not that bad when released.

*golfclap*

I've been trying to get people to understand this for the past couple days.

If the final release continues to have blatant problems which should have been fixed during developement, I'm very tempted to do a chargeback on my CC to Origin and buy the game when it's running properly. I do have two things holding me back though... I bought it using 25% coupon and I upgraded my video card to a 6950 anticipating the Beta.

It's called a release day patch. These days patches could be gigabytes in size. Not too big of a deal.

Yes, it takes a team of skilled open beta testers to figure out that the flashlight in this game is more powerful than looking straight towards the fucking sun.

I don't think you have an understanding of what a beta is, vs what stage you should be at less than 30 days from release. Essentially, you're going to get a game that is going to be filled with glitches for at least 3-6 more months, pretty much like BC2 when it came out, but this looks even worse.

Get over yourself and stop defending this game.
