I made this list for the EA forums, but do you guys agree?
1. Fix Ground Bugs - A MUST FIX
This is specifically aimed at the Operation Metro map where in multiple locations it is far to easy to glitch into the ground, and end up stuck. I would bet DICE has already fixed this, but they claimed to have fixed it by removing destructible ground but the problems have continued. These bugs hinder playing to the point I almost quit several times after getting stuck in what can only be called a "quicksand" of ground polygons.
2. The Squad System
Battlefield has always been a team-centric game where operating in squads gives you significantly more presence on any map you can care to mention. The problems right now include:
-Cannot manually join/leave/lock/rename squads (See BF2) These features MUST BE ADDED, as it stand right now I can't even join a squad with my friends, despite having joined the server using the awesome party system.
-Spawning on any squad member (See BF3 alpha) This is not the right way to buff attacking teams. The system in place during the alpha was superior in almost every way. Being able to spawn on any squad member leads to far less squad organization on public servers, and far less tactical depth for competitive players.
3. Joystick Support
Given DICE has stated multiple times that PC is the lead platform why on earth are my joystick and all my friend's joysticks only recognized as broken 360 controllers? Flying jets well requires a joystick, please understand that DICE. Let all flight axis be bound to generic joystick axis, don't just assume we're all plugging 360 controllers in. The joystick system is so broken, please bring back real joystick support. (See BF2/BF1942)
4. Menu System
DICE, the menu system must be accessible both while dead and preferably out of game. It's asinine to attempt to bind keys WHILE getting shot at.
5. Flashlights
I like the idea of the flashlight as an aggressive "blinding" attachment, but the biggest issue is just how damn bright it is even in bright sunlight (see aboveground Operation Metro). There needs to be more of a distinction between the flashlight's usefulness in low light situations like the subway in Metro compared to situations involving bright, direct sunlight where a flashlight would hardly even be visible.
6. Scope Glint
Great mechanic, but I think the glint should be less bright, you should at least have to look for it. As it stands it's impossible not to see it. In addition, I understand balance vs realism, but why do scopes glint underground in a dark subway tunnel? That should be fixed in my opinion for realism's sake.
7. Mouse Button Binding
This is a fairly simple issue, you can't rebind default mouse buttons and in many cases can't bind any new action to mouse buttons. This is a big issue for PC gaming, DICE.
I appreciate any thoughts or comments and look forward to the game's full release.
