Metro is a horrible map, but this is just the beta, so we should keep that in perspective. If I didn't get disconnected every 15 minutes, I'd probably have some good things to say about it. With all the mandatory quad core talk pre-beta release, I was surprised to see my fps stayed above 30 pretty much the entire time.

Is there a way to toggle the scope instead of holding the button to have the scope?

Also, grenades won't go through bushes, they get stuck when they touch a bush and blow up next to you, if you are in the bush.

Yes, it's in the options when you join the game. It's in the left most option menu and you can select "toggle"

Anyone experiencing micro stutters in a non-sli setup? I'm using a Nvidia 550 ti and it's somewhat annoying when scoping and unscoping or fast turning.

Same here, I have a E8400 as well.

You guys are all fucking retarded. It's a beta...

A true beta.

They didn't sit around going.
"Ok it's one month before release what should we do?"
"How about we stop developing the release build of the game and develop a bug free beta."
"Great idea. Call the coders, and tell them we are not working on the final build of the game any more. It's beta only development for a 2 week release only from now on."

"Ok, makes sense. Get on the horn to the publisher and let them know we are going to be working on this beta from now on."

"Done"

You are all ignorant to the world of game development. The build we are playing is more than likely the original alpha build with a few tweaks. They did not waste precious time and money making a new version of the beta to simply provide us a bug free game while they are basically testing server loads from Battlelog.

Half the major complaints people have are no brainers. They aren't going to waste time fixing such obvious mistakes... You must be a dumb fuck if you think that you won't be able to bind keys in the final game. Or if you think that the menu's will be only accessable while alive in the final version. As for the terrain bug they have already said it's fixed in the final version. Servers are currently not resetting old map destruction data so you fall into old holes in the ground and then clip through the map.

These are the only problems anyone complains about and if you think the final version will have them you are a water head...

Where have you been for the last 10 years? This is how DICE does things, plain and simple. Don't give me this "beta" BS.

Leaning would have been very useful in the Metro Maps.
Why no Leaning in all these FPS games? Xbox controller don't have enough button?

lol...so i decided to give the beta a shot. as long as I don't have to pay money for it, i'll give it a shot and then you guys can't say i never played it.

i get in and try to change settings. after I changed 1 setting my mouse cursor would disappear and i hit esc then i could get my mouse back. started at auto settings for graphics.

stutter stutter stutter

ok, lets lower a few settings. that seemed to make it worse
set everything to medium - even worse stutter yet....
then the game locks up and crashes
try to launch again, crashes
launch a 3rd time and it lets me in. changed everything to low settings, step around the corner, see a bright explosion about 25 yards away and game locks up and crashes again.

my system is nowhere near top of the line but i can play everything else just fine - Metro 2033, Dues Ex: HR to name some recent games. Even BC2 worked on my system

Does anyone else feel like the whole game is on a half second delay? The animations are incredibly clunky. I'm also not a fan of the suppression effect, or any blur in general. BC2 felt much more crisp in terms of mechanics.

What games do have lean? COD? COD4 was the only one I know of that had it, certainly no BF title has had it.

What the hell is the point of it anyway? if it's only to make you less visible while trying to shoot, you can do that by picking a better vantage point to shoot from. Lean not required.

I bet you didn't download the AMD or nVidia beta drivers though.

I just did and it works better.

gameplay is basically how I remembered BC2 and BF2 - don't like it.

Can't see enemies, feels like i'm walking on a waterbed, controls are kind of jerky and not smooth at all.

Someone mentioned like a lag and i felt that too. Felt that way even on the lowest settings. BC2 worked much better than this.

Still not a fan of BF series though. you can guys can keep it.

Played for the beta for a couple hours tonight and am disappointed but will reserve my final judgement until I play some more and try the other map. I went in expecting BF2 with better graphics and was really disappointed. It just feels like BC2 which I really didn't enjoy.

Damn, 9 posts in 12 odd years and one is to bitch about the beta?

I hate metro, the game style is not fun. I really would rather play almost any other map type.
I still hate not being able to rebind the mouse.

My enthusiasm for this game has greatly diminished from this beta. I'm not sure I'm going to pick it up anymore on release. The most disconcerting thing really is how raw it is for one month before release. I really don't want to pay to beta test multiple releases before it gets balanced, and by then the community disappears.

After putting maybe 3 hours in, it's fun, but it's more frustrating and not in the "I got owned, this sucks" way but "Hrmm, another glitch, another thing to write up, fantastic"

I usually don't play online FPSes because I'm in Pakistan and there aren't too many servers here. I tried the beta and lag didn't seem to be an issue even on European servers (pings: 150-200). Maybe I'm spoiled by CS 1.6 where anything above 50 was considered laggy and 70 and above unplayable. I might buy this.

I like take a peek inside a room instead of just running in and get shot.
What so hard about putting leaning in the game? it not like it has never been done.

I've spent quite a bit of time with it over the past few days.

It looks very nice, but the art direction, style, and even a lot of the assets look a lot like Crysis2. Nothing wrong with that...like I said, it looks really nice - a very strong improvement over BC2. If I didn't know better I would guess this was running on CryEngine3 though.

I do think it could use a good bit of motion smoothing and a lot less shakiness. I know they were trying to go for realism here, but the constant jostling literally gives me a headache after awhile....I feel like I'm watching the Bourne Supremacy or something.

Controls feel clunky and somewhat laggy. Sometimes I felt like I was trying to get a drunk soldier to friggen move his ass - it definitely doesn't feel as tight and quick as BC2. I got used to it after awhile and even top scored some rounds, but I suppose that kind of thing is just personal preference. Having spent so much time in Crysis Wars, everything feels kind of slow and clunky.

I think they have a lot of interesting ideas and I'm sure they'll work the bugs out - I'm definitely going to buy the game at release and jump right in. Despite the things I don't really care for (and my decidedly negative beta review), I still really like what they came up with and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

This game feels like cod to me. it is nothing like bc2 or bf2.......

I agree, & I too was hoping for a BF2 upgrade. I don't play console games much, even though I do own a PS3, but I've seen my brother play his 360 & PS3 a ton & this looks & feels like the games he plays. That's not what I was looking for or hoping for in BF3. I wish it felt a lot more like BF2. I still can't believe they took the commander role out of BF3. That was so incredibly lame.

It's just funny reading the complaints because it's mainly stuff they have already said got fixed after the alpha. Your list of complaints from the guy is followed by a post that says. That sounds just like the alpha build of the game. Which is what we are playing.

I mean seriously people you think they plan on not letting us bind keys on our keyboards? It's common sense....

They can SAY whatever they want. People will say whatever they need to in order to get your money. Until you have box in hand to confirm all you can say is they're blowing rainbows up your ass to feel better about what we're playing.
