I just did and it works better.

gameplay is basically how I remembered BC2 and BF2 - don't like it.

Can't see enemies, feels like i'm walking on a waterbed, controls are kind of jerky and not smooth at all.

Someone mentioned like a lag and i felt that too. Felt that way even on the lowest settings. BC2 worked much better than this.

Still not a fan of BF series though. you can guys can keep it.

SHOCKER!

I'm LOL'ing at all the apologists saying "it's just a beta!". It's less than a month from release. This includes the time needed to roll the final version, send it to manufacturers, box them up and distribute worldwide. There will be no major changes. There is no time for major bug fixes. This beta release isn't about the game and its features, it's about ensuring the servers and systems are in place.

Wait, it's gold already? Wait, there won't be a game day patch? Are you trolling or being an idiot like usual?

The game won't be burned and produced for hardcopy for a couple of more weeks. The boxing, cover-art, etc have already been produced, the only thing left is burning the DVDs. All of this takes a week and distribution another week at most for Oct 25.

In the meantime, have you played Caspian Border? No. Will the game be perfect on Day 1? No. But that can be said for just about every other game. When was the last game you bought on Day 1 that didn't have some kind of game day patch?

So far my biggest gripe is that I can't see enemies. That might have to do with me not having a full grasp on the map yet. I'm getting tired of getting killed by bushes firing bullets at me. lol

In BF2 I remember knowing exactly where the enemy is, my squad moving tactically around them and such. If there is a sniper up on a hill, we know he's there because of shot blast/bullet trail. in BF3 so far... I'm wondering which bush is firing at me this time.. Lots of debris and moving shadows. For some reason my brain just cant decipher the difference between scenery and enemy. And then I launch up TF2 and own a whole server.

I need to play a map with vehicles damnit. That's the only way I'll know.

They can SAY whatever they want. People will say whatever they need to in order to get your money. Until you have box in hand to confirm all you can say is they're blowing rainbows up your ass to feel better about what we're playing.

But if you read the BF forums zhinto has already stated that many of these complains were fixed a long time ago.

We aren't playing release code people. Simple things like adding in the programming that directs mouse controls to keyboard controls for binding they have already stated has been added for the final version.

Yes, but Dice games are always buggy on release. But they do get fixed extremely fast. So a month after release most of the bugs will be gone.

Are you guys playing Caspian Border or Metro? Caspian is nothing like CoD.

It's not like many of us could play Caspian. I tried for 30min then gave up so most of us could only give our assessment of Metro. For some stupid reason Dice decided to lock-down Caspian. I never got to play it.

I really don't mind Origin and Battlelog, but today Steam was auto-compatibility set by Win 7 64, and I wonder if Origin had something to do with that (happened after I installed Origin).

I get all the bugs we've heard about in-game like the orange flashes, but haven't crashed or been disconnected at all. Framerate and connection are buttery smooth, but get some weird delays with the knife.

Other than not being able to bind keys or change settings unless you are actually in a match (WTF?), my only gripe is how much camping goes on compared to BC2 (and all other BF games). I haven't seen so many people hiding behind low walls or crawling around since games like Red Orchestra - each to his own, but that ain't Battlefield. I hope none of the Conquest maps have linear rat-maze parts to them.

-in the tunnels\inside go with the i\r scope it is gold ,
-in the big fights say 15 vs 15 hiding you can inch out and see every foot -head and shoot what ever is pink ,got 10 kills in 2 mins in one fight while my team mates were shooting at turnstiles \walls\air they couldn't see the guys mostly behind cover ,shooting a foot still does damage .easy to spot fast movers as the pink enters field of view - fire at it.
- works great
- but outside you can't see the center dot to aim 100%, so useless you can spot them -just can't hit them.

For what its worth it didn't happen that much in Caspian Border. I got a good 3-4 hours on it, and it was basically like BC2. A couple times I got bushwacked by some scumbag in a bush, but because you can approach the capture points in 360 degrees its not that big on an issue. If there are bushes and boxes, its foolish not to use them to defend.

And for shotgun users, it seems like they neutered the slugs a bit. The range seems shorter than BC2 and Vietnam, maybe because there is no magnum ammo anymore.

I definetly agree with this, and the pic is just lolz. Pretty much sums up the outside portions of metro. The inside parts of the map I dont mind so much. Being outside blows though. Don't know why.

Hopefully getting a chance at some vehicle maps will make me like this game more. Right now I think it kinda sucks, fancy graphics aside...

I think the Frostbite 2 Engine will shine best in a mostly urban environment, I think the vegetation models aren't up to par with the building models.

I agree.

I'd like to see a map similar to the bf2 road rage maps. (open fields, freeways etc...) Shit, Oman, Sharqi, Daqing oilfields style maps would be excellent as well.

This beta map is a really nice map. They need to change the season to winter so that the leaves are gone though. lol.

Does Dice address player issues at all? Like in a forum somewhere? Id like to know if theyve made note of what people are saying.

Have they said anything about not being able to map keybinds to mice? My Lachesis has 9 buttons but it seems only left and right click are recognized.

Also how do you type in game chat? I think I did it once using enter but not it doesnt work.

I got part of a round in... had some fun tank action, but then my driver bailed while I (engineer) was repairing the thing. Argh! Wait! Then I got disconnected.

Looked great, wish I'd known the map better.

That was a big gripe for me in BC2 and with BF3. You can't see anyone. Even in the metro tunnels, i can't see anyone unless they were right on top of me.

Though small and hard to see enemies has been a gripe of mine since BF2, but it was made worse in BC2 and up.

How many unlocks is this? Is it kit-specific?

I actually hit a few servers where defenders were spawn-camping on the first Metro map. Useless if your squad is organized, irritating and stupid if it isn't. I like the second and third Metro sections, though.

Really? I can see everyone just fine in BC2 but in MoH I can't see anyone. Everyone just blended into the background when I tried MoH.

At one point when i was playing last night I was like 1/12 K/D and probably 11 out of those 12 I didn't see anyone except my own teammates. I didn't even know where the shots were coming from. It was like that in BC2 a lot as well.

You really cannot blame the game for your inability to play. I've been going 5:1 KDA easily. Everyone just keeps running around like idiots and I take great pleasure in killing them with my 870mcs, which was also my favorite gun in BC2. Maybe if you realized that human sized things that move are enemies and everything else is scenery, you might at least get a 1:1 KDA. And how do you not know where the shots are coming from.

A. The game is more or less one side vs another so you should always have some idea of where the fire is coming from

B. The guns all have tracers or something that lets you see.

C. Muzzle flare/smoke is extremely visible.

D. You should rarely be insta killed by bursts of fire because you should be hugging cover 24/7..

E. Half the players have those flashlight/laser attachments that make it so easy to shoot at and kill them.

T toggles the flashlight on and off. It's awesome at close quarters. Never thought the laser was a good idea.

The problem with people complaining about dying a lot by people hiding in bushes is that you're probably used to running and gunning ala CoD. Sure I've died by people in bushes but it doesn't seem that bad because I'm not running all over the place and actually checking for enemies before I run out and run from cover to cover.
