Not sure if it was asked at this point (I haven't read all the posts) but are you experiencing this exact same problem in other games? Or is it just BF3? Because, ultimately, if whatever you do fixes nothing but it would happen to be just affecting BF3 and no other games, then I would probably point at the driver itself being the problem. You might want to check at the NVIDIA forums since they have discussions on specific driver releases, and sometimes people report issues with specific games when for example a previous driver wasn't causing any problems.

This is just a guess though, not saying that it is only a driver issue, but it could well be if all your other games aren't affected by that same problem, particularly.

Lowest settings (first 10k or so values)

That is a very reliable trace, the consistency of 120 fps is great. Alas the microstutter is not reduced much. Hmmmmm.

This is with the default CPU clock? I am at a loss nothing seems to work at all.

I am assuming in all this your not seeing this in other FPS's, just BF3? It could be a wider problem if it shows up else where, otherwise I would say its a got to be a bug in the driver. I doubt its a hardware problem they don't manifest in this way.

Its not an acceptable amount of microstutter at all, its some of the most consistent I have ever seen from a 680. The only other time I saw a similar thing was with a 7970 that was reducing its clock speed while in game. But as far as I know the 600 series doesn't have a similar problem and you are on full performance. But lets check it anyway just incase on both the CPU and GPU. You need MSI afterburner and we want to chart CPU utilisation and clock speed, GPU utilisation and clock speed. Lets make sure everything is running consistently at the right speed and not yoyoing between two different speed ratings as that does cause oddities.

Might also be worth setting the machine to maximum performance in the power settings if you haven't done so.

Alright, I did all the tests:

Server: 64 players Caspian border
Run time: 13 minutes
Battlefield preset in-game: Lowest settings
V-Sync in-game: off
Adaptive V-sync: off
Nvidia Driver: 310.90
CPU Clock: Default

GPU Log (MSI Afterburner) & CPU Log (HWINFO64): http://easy-upload.info/do.php?id=690

Fraps benchmark: (Original files: http://easy-upload.info/do.php?id=689)

Thanks in advance.

I've just uploaded a video on youtube that shows the microstuttering happening every time I move around, please check it out to have an exact idea of what I am facing:

http://youtu.be/Y8tmJy0ecGI

Note: I've recorded it using fraps locked @60fps, so the footage is twice as worse as in the game itself since youtube limit is 30fps

My friend is having the same problem in games such as Diablo 3, TF2, and LOL. He has a i7 3770K, EVGA GeForce 670 FTW, and Asrock z77 Pro3.

Were you ever able to fix the problem? It's driving him insane.

At one point i had this issue with BF3 myself with a gtx670,i would pull high fps and no matter what settings i would use,i came across the stuttering.

I would try running adaptive vsync,it might eliminate the issue but not completely,i know it did not for me and heck i went back to using my 7850 .....

Believe it or not, using the Ultra preset eliminates the stuttering or at least makes the game-play very smooth.

This is the only fix that I've found.

Long shot - you don't by any chance in addition to your 120hz monitor have another monitor plugged in of a different model? If you do try removing that second monitor. Since this problem was raised I found a bug related to 60hz monitors mixed with 120hz monitors and based on your original post I wasn't sure if this maybe applied to you.
