Just a couple of things, and first my bias - I own all of the COD games for my 360. I really liked the SP, but never enjoyed the MP much at all. I've owned all of the BF games except 2142 and BFBC, all on PC except BFBC2 and BF1943, and I greatly prefer BF MP over the years, even with the imabalances, etc etc. I loved BF1942, DC, BFV, and BF1943. I am not that great at or in love with the more modern setting games.
That said:
1) I am very curious how well this engine will scale. How will it look and play 2-3 CPU/GPU generations from now? I think DICE/EA is shooting for it to have that level of longevity. Have they scaled the game back for release and can patch in more detail as the hardware catches up? I think it's not arguable that they've already made one such decision with PC voicechat.
2) I dont worry much about minor release day glitches. The game has a couple, and I am sure the netcode could be cleaned up even more. Then there's the PB thing. Those are fixable. It's not crap right now and it plays very well as it is.
3) Game feels a little skittish right now. Lower grade weapons, unfamiliarity with maps, and a lack of teamplay. Those things will improve with unlocks and familiarity. I expect teamplay to really improve in the next 6-9 mos.
4) I agree some on the vehicles comments. Old BF there were a plethora of vehicles with fast respawns on most every map. I loved loved loved Wake Island for that reason.
5) BRING BACK IN GAME MUSIC like Battlefield Vietnam had. I guess it was a little overdone, but man do I miss playing Flight of the valkyries as I rolled into an opposing cap point on a VC scooter.
6) I miss the command rose. I realize it's not really necessary with voicechat, but we don't have that. Implement one or the other.
All in all, this is a great game though. Witha few realtively simple fixes, it'll be perfect. COD does one type of gameplay, extraordinarily well, but that's not me. I do not like deathmatch - I like Conquest the most followed by Rush, but mostly, I love the added dimension of vehicles and improvising with them as much as possible to obtain objectives, rather than chasing the highest killcount or K: D ratio. So for me, this game is bliss.
