Meh. I paid $40 for it plus $40 for premium and I still enjoy it. I rarely have any of the problems I've experienced when it first came out.

Had 0 problems with BF4 as well.

Outside the server instability during the first two weeks after the game's release, I've had very few problems with the game.

Have already played about 280 hours so far, so am obviously enjoying myself

I like bf4 I feel its alright. I got it on ps4 so it only crashed about 10 times and its been good so far. I'm close to the end of the sp campaign. I think the bf3 campaign had more substance but it's really similar. I felt the levels in bf3 were a bit better.

Snipers are the same in this game.

I've played titanfall beta and I liked it because it felt new, just a nice style. Not knowing how the campaign in Titan fall is or how many game modes it will have I'm gonna think before spending $60.

Its fun to play but I'll wait and see. It will be bigger on xb1 but I only have a PC. I showed my friend gameplay of it and he loved it, he may get it for his console.

If you can find a deal on bf4 I would get it, they did improve the multiplayer quite a bit aside from the bugs.

I would avoid BF4 at all costs. More than the technical issues, which are numerous; the core gameplay mechanics are quite flawed and it feels like the game needed about another year of development.

Thanks again guys.

I've just bought Crysis 3 for a whopping $5 (http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/cr...7&sourceID=bEhZTnJ1h88-1ir9TVoU33xCaeVVcwSj_w) so I think I'll mess around with that for a while. I figured that the current sale on BF4 is only going to last until Feb 28th, so I wanted to get opinions before spending $35 on it. I'm glad I asked. I'll wait and play a few other games (I missed out on Bioshock Infinite for $13) and bide my time. By the time I can get BF4 for $20, I'll be way less concerned with the glitches and hopefully some things will have been fixed.

-Thanks again!

I want your PC. You didn't have any issues with SimCity when everybody and their mother was, and now you claim you have 0 problems with Bf4? Oh that's right, EA pays you....go away shill.

If there is a BF5 I really hope they remove CLIENT side hit detection

I'd be interested to see the core gameplay mechanics you think are flawed.

The movement and gunplay feels very clunky and unresponsive. I believe they were going for a more "realistic" feel, but it just ended up feeling bad. The animations are also really stiff and clunky. Everything about the game just looks and feels like it was rushed...and not by a few weeks in order to beat CoD Ghosts, but by at least several months.

If you've got friends playing, go for it. Squads are a blast over voicechat. But if you're just playing solo, personally I would prefer other games. I love BF4 and play it all the time, but always with at least one of my friends. But if I'm on my own the only FPS I really play is TF2.

I haven't touched single player.

The only 'clunky' part of the game is hurdling objects which can be annoying at times, but given the sheer variety of terrain and situations it has to try and handle I can understand it being imperfect.

With the exception of BF1942 -> BF2 the release timeline between their major releases has almost always been 18-24 months. Ain't shit changed.

I'm pretty sure that BF2 to BF3 was far more than 24 months> I welcome more Battlefield games, just don't make them identical to each other, I played the beta for BF4 and I really didn't see any changes from BF3

I gave up on the series after BF2+expansion. Not sure if it is nostalgia or what, but it lost the "fun" feel of BF1942/DC and BF2. Making BF3 Origin exclusive was what did it for me, as I wasn't really enjoying the game much, while playing it extensively at a friends house. Battlefield series was never really about single player, so not sure why that should be much of a factor.

If I need my FPS fix now, I'll either play Loadout, TF2, Ace of Spades, Borderlands. I know none of those games are that similar to proper Battlefield, but they do the trick , and I could always start playing CS:GO if I want a bit more realism.

If you are a BF fan like me, then yes you should bother. If you aren't, then it doesn't matter what you do because your life doesn't revolve around BF and you are just a lost soul with a pointless existence.

BF3 and BF4 are not the same game as BF2. That sense of distance and movement and combat disappeared with the modern reincarnations. The weapons feel a bit more random than BF2 and the animations. I miss that style of gameplay immensely, BF4 is more like COD MW than it is BF2.

I vote yes for the discounted price - I did the premium and got it at a discount - The game is more or less BF3, but with "More" - I had a lot of trouble initially and had trouble with the Mantle beta driver as well - but now using stock and no problems.

To me, it does not play at all like COD - its bigger, weapons are more variable, and the teamwork/squads make it a ton more fun. I've had good luck with finding fun players and I enjoy most of the game modes at this point. The destruction on the maps/weather changes are fantastic and really make the game fun.

I think the game itself is fun as hell to play online and a great PC game - with that being said, Origin is horrible and borderland malware with the way it works/responds - I also dislike Origin after using steam.

And on a side this is the last BF title I'll get burned on at launch, I'll play this game until literally no one plays it and then jump to the next version when they launch it in a year...

I have something like 190hrs into BF4 now. Don't listen to the haters. Its still a fun game. It had a rough start, but the worst of the issues are ironed out now. If you're one of the unlucky people afflicted by one of the bugs it sucks, but its a vocal minority anymore. The game severely weakened Air and ground vehicles vs infantry compared to bf3. The biggest issue for me is the amount of snipers, but I play HC and they are one shot kill in HC with sort of attracts the no-skill campers. Normal mode they are more reasonable.

Netcode can be a little wonky once in awhile. Its not ever going to be an esports game. The servers are 10hz which means occasionally weird stuff happens. If you're the sort to get worked up and rage at your computer after every death and call hacks, or how it wasn't you're fault, you might not have a great time. If you just shrug, say I'll be on the benefiting side next time, and respawn, it works okay.

Its absolutely worth $30. IMHO, the biggest issue is that regular servers are going to be harder and harder to find on PC as expansions come out. BF kind of locks you into premium if you want to play long term. However you're a bf3 player so you've probably experienced that.

I can count the times I've crashed bf4 on one hand. I've been playing since release. With the hours I've put in, that's pretty damn good. Not everyone is having issues. Just the ones that have them are very vocal.

There will definitely be a BF5 I predict it around this time next year. Battlefield has gone the COD route

I suspect a Oct/Nov release this year given the premium schedule. I think the big question is if they kill the 360 and ps3 support to be able to push the game forward a bit more.

Exactly the reason why I stayed away from BF4.

I remember playing BF1942 and DC mod...LOVED IT.

I remember playing BF2 and LOVING it. Game was a pure "Combined Assault"

I remember playing BF:BC2 and tolerating it....the leveling system was dumb and I didn't care for the small maps/missed prone. I was also annoyed at what they did to the kits...why o why did the Medic have an LMG?

Then BF3 came along. I was PISSED. People using joysticks couldn't brake (0% throttle in BF2 was reverse/brake. Not sure what it was in BF3) so people flying with keyboards were able to out turn you. Stupid ranking system X2, horrible gadget unlocks per weapon, and stupid weapons in the wrong speciality (SKS as a Sniper/DMR. Really?)

I didn't bother with BF4 (and will refuse to) but being an old man + missing the gameplay of BF2 and before made me realize that Battlefield 3+ is only Battlefield in name and does not share the same core gameplay as before.

Play on better servers? Ping isn't everything, the server has a lot to do with it.

it's not just me. these problems are widely known and recorded. the netcode is wonky and the tick rate is 10 hz like someone else mentioned. if you don't notice it, great, but it certainly isn't me or the servers I'm playing on. the shooting in the game is very erratic and inconsistent.
