Heh, going by older terms I guess. Haven't been following it much. Just enough to know that I don't want to try to sell this thing in a year and a half if PCI-E has taken off.

I put the offical drivers on for now downloaded from NVIDIA.... Which would you guys recommend that are hardcore into this?


Anyone with this particular card run the free 3dmark 05 on it yet? I looked at the comparisons and of course it stinks.

With the offical 61.77 drivers got 3800 something.

Forceware 66.70 got 4701

I just got mine in the mail. The card i got does not match the one on the web page. Through the box i can see the heatsink is flat gold/copper rectangle with 2 fans. It says BFG geforse 6800gt on it though. On the back of the box is a window where i guess some barcode inside the packaging is supposed to be visible. There isn't one inside. There is a barcode sticker outside the packaging over that window. Does this sound legit?

I believe that is the second edition of the BFG 6800GT, the first edition of the BFG 6800GT had a fan similar to that which you see on the page. It's still a legit card, just a newer one really.

so is everyone getting the new versions with the copper heatsink and the two blue fans? anyone know if there is a difference between these and the reference design? I heard that the newer version doesnt cool as well, but i could be wrong

I suspect we'll all get the dual fan hs. Pic @ BFG Tech's website . I've heard it's quieter and a tiny bit less effective at cooling ~5C warmer. No biggy, I live in a colder climate and keep my room very cool.
