Hot damn, if it comes with the lifetime warranty, it's a decent price. But man, it's hard to drop $400 on a video card if you aren't rich.

im happy with the BFG 6800U OC for 380 from the outpost deal a little while ago

its nvidia's top of the line, don't we all wish we could say ati's top of the line only cost 400... despite the fact that ati has higher performance i don't think 600 dollars justifies that.

BFG warrant's their cards to the original purchaser for life whether it be oem or retail. The fan only has 1 year warranty tho.

The prices are dropping because of the 512MB versions coming out.

I'm sure graphics card companies could develop a way to expand the memory on graphics cards much more efficiently than BUYING A NEW CARD, but they won't ever implement it.

actually the top of the line is the eVGA 6800 Ultra Extreme edition.

Sure you can, but by then the games out will not run well on it. Consider what you can buy today for $100 and throw HL2, Far Cry, or D3 at it.

Honestly, I think all BFG 6800 Ultra's come in a plain white box, with 2 dvi to vga adaptors,2 y splitters, demo cd, driver cd, and some might include a copy of farcry. So whether its sold as oem or retail doesnt make a difference unless that paticular vendor took the card out of the package and is selling the card alone. Come to think of it, all BFG cards comes with accessories. I have bought a BFG 6800GT and 2x BFG 6800 Ultra with no option of picking retail or oem and they all came in BFG boxes with accessories. Sorry, to answer your question, warranty applies to all cards. You will need a copy of invoice to claim warranty"

That is incorrect. Retail BFG cards carry a lifetime warranty and can come in either a white or colorful retail box. The retail BFG 6800GT Ultra PCI-E I purchased from Monarch came in a white box, but the label clearly stated retail w/ lifetime warranty.

As far as the fan on the video card is concerned, it is also covered under the lifetime warranty. The 1 year warranty applies to the BFG accessory fans.

I also bought a retail BFG 6800 ultra that came in a plainish white box. It contained 2 power cords, 2 dvi adapters and a driver and demo CD. So OEM sounds like it would hardly be a step down........

Well its finally nice to see that there are enough cards out there now to bring the price down. All though I will be holding out for ATI's R520 come may. Suppose to be double the speed of the current top X800/X850.
