Actually it seems to be a good price after rebate. The best price for a 7800GT on Pricewatch is 294 shipped at Newegg. The prices only go up from there, so 300 plus tax AR isn't horrible. Plus I think BFG has a lifetime warranty on their video cards. As far as the tax goes, most of the good video card deals are at Newegg or ZZF and us CA people have to pay tax no matter what.

To the threadcrapper. Read the rules. If the subject doesn't interest you move on. If you can post a better deal, post it.

FWIW - CompUSA has a 21 day return policy w/ no restocking fee, even on opened items. For some, the extra money(tax) paid can be well worth it.

I know people who did this with 6800NU's from circuitcity when they were going for $150 AR... Buy, fail to unlock, return, exchange, unlock, keep.

eVGA is cheaper yes. for the BFG this is a hot deal. period. some people have preferences I have an eVGA but did look at the price of the BFG cause I really like their customer service. They were all WAY more expensive so I went with eVGA. Had I seen this I dont know.

This deal is poo. Get the XFX 7800GT from ZZF for $300 SHIPPED, no rebates, and no tax for most of us. Still get life time warranty, and a faster core speed.

I posted this deal early today. BestBuy (B&M) has the same card only with $50 rebate or $349 (AR). Question is: Will BB do the 110% of the difference or they just PM it? Anyone have tried it?

You can't overclock it anymore nor can you change the fans.

As a BFG 7800GT OC owner I'll tell you that I REGRET getting this card. Not only does it not OC well (465/1200 max), my card is fvcked up. I get major display problems 1 in 3 boots. There's no way I can warranty because I put a VF700 cooler on it....

Bottom line. EVGA ftw!

My CompUSA in Albuquerque won't accept any open items on any computer parts. After it leaves the store, everything must go through the mfg.
