GPU-Z states my 8800GT is Revision "A2" when I have an EVGA 8800GT bought pretty much at launch day. I guess that pretty much throws the theory of "A2" revision 8800GTs having the larger fan.

Just found out something interesting a few minutes ago. if you read up on BFG's warranty the card is warrantied for life but the fan itsef is only covered for a year.
Taken from BFGtech.com
"BFG Tech 1 Year Accessory Warranty (Graphics Card Fan)
BFG Technologies is proud to warrant the original purchaser of the Graphics Card Fan included in this package ("Product") that the Product will be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase of the product, when given normal wear and proper usage. This warranty is valid if the product:
>> Was not damaged while being installed.
>> Was not damaged by software or hardware from a company or individual other than BFG Technologies or by motherboard incompatibility.
>> Was operated in accordance with BFG Technologies specifications, instructions and any technical support directions.
>> Was not modified or damaged by overclocking, tampering, user error, accident, disaster, abuse, misuse, power supply, power application, alteration, repair, modification, a fix or replacement by someone other than BFG Technologies.
>> Third party products, such as add-in graphics cards, and other system components using this Product are not be covered by this warranty of the graphics card."
Does that mean if the fan dies you have to send it in and pay to have the fan replaced since aftermarket cooling will void the warranty?

I saw this thread yesterday (my power was out the last 3...) and checked my local bb's online and no one had any. I called one and they said they didn't have any but they were getting a truck in last night so i should check again in the morning. I got up at 9 (cutting it close since the store opens at 9 i guess) checked the site and it said both my local stores had them. I threw on a coat and hat and got to the store. Asked a guy where the cards were, he, too, asked me what card i was looking for. Took me there and there were 4 on the shelf so i grabbed one. I'm thinking he must have wanted one, too, because he was trying to tell me an ATI 2600xt was just as good, and in fact might be better. I justed nodded and uh-huhed my way through it, signed up for the rewards deal, used the coupon and got out for 227 after tax. Pretty decent end to a less than stellar week. (knock on wood).
Now to cancel the dell order...

It's out of stock when I check availability online. Does their tracking system suck enough to warrant a personal visit to my local Best Buy?

I've read that people have used the Zalman VF 900, but YMMV.
My 3DMark06 score: 7329
GPU: BFG 8800 GT and its stock OC settings.
CPU: Single-core Socket 939 Opteron at 2.75 Ghz.
RAM: 2 GB at 2T and 161.8 Mhz (according to CPU-Z)
Sadly, my Unreal Tournament 3 FPS performance doesn't seem to be all that improved but it's playable at my LCD's max resolution of 1280 x 1024. I guess I'm a little disappointed. Time to upgrade to a dual core CPU perhaps.
3DMark05 score with x800xt: 6157
3DMark05 score with 8800 GT: 13422
Would I benefit in any way from reinstalling Direct X 9.0c ?

I've thought about doing a CPU-mobo-RAM upgrade, but I don't want to have to reinstall all of my Micro$quish software that requires authentication (XP, Office 2003). It's been over a year-and-a-half since I originally installed XP and Office 2003 (though MS scans my PC for updates), so maybe it wouldn't be a problem, but I'd feel more comfortable just getting a dual core Socket 939. Sadly, all of the dual core Opterons are very expensive now.
