There are 2 things you should worry about.
Your psu may be too weak for the 8800.
A 3.2 pent 4 is too slow for that video card even at high resolutions.
Even a pent 4 ee @3.7 is bottlenecking a 1950 pro ,so a 3.2 pent 4 with a 8800 is a no brainer.

I got my order in Saturday morning after striking out at a different store the day before. In each situation, they couldn't get the 12% reward zone coupon to go through, the first guy just left it at that, but at the second store the guy immediately got his manager to put an override in, lickety split, and everything went through fine.

The printout says I should get it in about a week, can I check the status online or only by calling? I really hope everything went through all right, I see the HD 2900xt is in a similiar sale this week, but it's been sold out for quite awhile so looks like you can't even place an order if you wanted to.

UPS dumped it off at my side garage door at 4:41pm. Did not ring the bell or knock. When I ordered, I was expecting to wait a week or two- now I've got to get in gear and order the rest of the stuff for a new build. Thanks OP for bringing it to my attention.

I believe that this deal (like most best buy deals) went from sunday to saturday (one week). They do have a few internet only specials from wednesday to saturday. Therefore, you should not be surprised that when sunday morning came the deal was dead

I put in my order on thursday (the 21st), and its been a week with no news of shipping or anything. Shipping out from the warehouse said online between 1-2 weeks, so I'm wondering how some of you got yours so fast? Should i be worrying about them canceling my order?

I ordered mine at about 5 in the morning on the 21st as I was getting ready to go to the hospital for spinal surgery. I bought it because it was a hot deal and was really kind of happy that it was backorded cause I was going to build in late July and with my surgery I can't lift or move anything for about 3 weeks. When I got home from the hospital on the afternoon of the 22nd, I was shocked to see the email confirming shipping on the 21st and delivery on Monday. Now it has to set here until I am well enough to work on computers again. I feel kind of bad for others who wanted it soon and I ended up getting it before really expected or wanted it to arrive.

Heh, that's crazy rickon66! I ordered on the 20th and other than a confirmation email, I hadn't heard squat from BB.com. Then today I receive 2 emails both stating that the card is backordered, but will ship when they receive them in the warehouse, and then I got a third email asking me to partake in a survey regarding my satisfaction with the delivery of the card, lol. Much to my dismay, the card hadn't been delivered, but I thought this string of emails was funny none the less. I fully expected to have to wait till after the 2nd of July anyway, so I'm not upset that it hasn't come yet (at least I got in on a helluva deal).

sent them an email asking about the status and if they knew whether or not my order would ultimately be canceled, and there reply was something general like "due to unexpected demand, the product is backordered and they are trying there hardest to obtain more quantities from the manufacturer and my order will be canceled after 30 if they can not ship me one.

basically i dont understand how people who placed an order before and after me have already received their cards. im hoping that it depends on where the warehouses are in relation to you and what quantities each have. im also hoping that they get more in so i dont miss out on the price. i could see this as a rouse to get you interested in the product for a cheap price, cancel your order, and then not offer you the discounted price when they have them in stock again. urgh.

anyone have any input or details on this at all? thanks!

I ordered on the 19th and nothing yet, no email(s) even giving me the 'backordered' status. I'm going to wait for another 2 weeks and then bail and hope for a worthwhile deal on an 8800. I have yet to see anyone stating they received a card and they ordered after the 18th.

FYI, when this sale was going on, I ordered the bfg 8800gtx OC2 on sale for $598.94 (free shipping). I got it within a week.

However, until 7/4, there is %12 off with your rewards card. So today I returned it to the store and rebought for $571.00 + tax. (they took the %12 off retail).

I know its not a HOT deal like the 8800gts, but needed a card.

So for those leaning toward GTX, this seems like an ok deal.

You do make a good point. 1 8800GTX - 12% is almost the price of Newegg+shipping, especially considering the $10 coupon you will get in rewardzone points later. Tax will still drive it slightly higher. Was the GTX sold in your local store? The web sites indicate 'online only' so you are lucky that you got your 12%. The description just says " From our expanded online assortment; not available in all Best Buy stores". Considering the one near me is larger, with a Magnolia, it may have it in stock.

Is 1 8800GTX > 2 8800GTS in SLI?

Anyone notice that every time Newegg makes an item its 'featured' lead-in item on their emails, the item usually drops in price within two weeks to something near the price after rebate ?? I've been eyeing the above card, but other items I've bought recently were also those featured items and two weeks later .. BOOM.. cheaper to buy and no rebate wait involved ! I'm giving BB one more week, then bailing on this deal, so if you get a card from them, post when you ordered it so others can plan accordingly.
