BFG 8800GT OC @ Best Buy for $250 + 12% coupon ~ $220?

I was browsing through the SlickDeals.net forums and checked out the Best Buy four-day coupon deals for 11/18-11/21 deals. (Page 5-6, link here: http://i.slickdeals.net/attach...id=62644&d=1195272771)

'Lo and behold, I saw Best Buy list the BFG 8800GT OC for $250! Of course, they liked to list the "original price" as $279.99, but at least they brought it down to MSRP.

The more interesting deal is: will the 12% Best Buy coupon work on this? If it does, that'll bring the 8800GT's price at around ~$220 or so.

Hopefully this is legit, check out the ad and check out your local Best Buy with coupon-in-hand and see if you can get the 8800GT!

Hmmm. I bought one a couple of weeks ago, for 279, and the wife went back and got the 12% coupon taken off since they had mailed them late.

I'm still under the price match time limit...wonder if more can be taken off?

Most BBs have run out and don't have them in stock anymore so it might be hard to do, unless you mean rebuy the exact one you are returning which they probably won't let you do- restocking issues etc... It's kinda funny to start a sale on an item that's not in stock in any of their Ca stores. I'm not sure about the rest of the US but I'd think there's similar stock issues elsewhere.

I also bought one last week at $279 with a 10% off coupon. When I bought it I asked about the lengthened "holiday return policy" and the price match policy. He said it is eligible for return until Jan 31st '08 and that if the price lowers within the month to bring in the receipt and they would credit whichever payment was used for the purchase. I'm going by tomorrow on my lunch to see if they really will honor the price guarantee. I just read their policy section and the terms "available product" and "limited stock" keep showing up as reasons for exclusion from the policy.

That's a really good price on a really good card. I'm normally not an overclocker, but I've overclocked mine to 700/1728/1950 very easily (and i think I still have more room to go) which is almost the same specs as a card NE is selling for $329 plus tax with another $7 for shipping.

Nice to know that it works, this is a very limited time offer and stock is also very limited. If you really want the 8800GT, I suggest you hit up your nearest BB for a chance to get an 8800GT!

If you really want it, are within driving distance and don't mind driving there for possibly nothing, you should actually go to the store instead of relying on the online in-stock thing on their website. I got mine on a whim while picking up a video game. The online in-stock checker showed all BBs in Ca were OOS earlier that day. When I was getting the video game I asked the guy if they had any. He looked it up in their in-store system and it showed one in stock. It wasn't on the shelf either, he had to go into the back to get it. So if you don't mind doing a little driving... just make sure you ask someone once you get there - don't assume it will be on the shelf.

Oh, yeah....went to BB today with my receipt AND a 12% off coupon the wife got in the mail....they basically refunded my original sale, gave me the current sale price, and took off the 12%....which came to 219.99+tax for my 8800GT OC.

I was ecstatic that they did this for me today. I got $30 + tax credited back to my credit card. I had to use a new 12% off coupon to get it to go through, so basically I just had him scan the original receipt for a returned item and then repurchased same SKU for $249.99 - 12% off + tax for a grand total of $236 and some change.

I feel a bit like an ass because I eBayed my old 8800GTX with Quake 4 for $400, and even with eBay fees and such I still pocketed well over $140 with this discount added on.

I think it came with the statement this month. I don't think we even have a balance with BB at the moment. Guess they wanted to induce me to spend some more money there.
