Everyone wanting this card from Newegg please email them to reorder the BFG 5900! I don't know about you but I don't trust the others carrying this card. The only ones that have a decent price on the card are carrying oem cards or the company doesn't even have a toll free number. That's a red flag to me.

Why am I not suprised. Of course I didn't read the several pages warning me NOT to buy from www.gameVE.com, and of course I ordered it from gameVE.com. And of course I got a defective card. I had CoD and looked retail packaged, but inside the clamshell that the card was in was cracked, and the Yellow warning sticker was not on the heatsink as others have stated the retail cards come. Well lesson learned, on the phone with BFG for RMA as we speak, I'm not risking RMA with gameVE.com just to get another defective card. DO NOT USE gameVE.com

Saw this comment from BFG posted on gameve's page on resellerratings.

Looks like this whole fiasco was due to BFG's poor quality control. Gameve is just an unfortunate reseller stuck with a batch of non-working retail box video cards.

If the fault lies entirely with BFG, then how did Gameve end up shipping out all those boxes without shrinkwrapping and without the yellow sticker on the card? Obviously they saw that they weren't shrink wrapped and therefore might not be new retail boxes.

Also the arrogant FU attitude of their customer support, charging 15% restock on doa merchandise, sending out oem when they advertise retail box, very poor packing hap hazardly thrown together which reflects their philosophy, no other company having anywhere NEAR the number complaints, and don't forget their previous fraud scheme with the ati cards. You want to overlook the obvious then don't cry to us when you get screwed. And answer this, if its BFG's fault then why has BFG quit rmaing cards purchased from gameve???? ill tell you why, they are a bunch of Chineese who speak essentially no english and are here to rip people off and take advantage of customers and could care less about pleasing customers, only making a shady buck! No too much different than a drug gang if you ask me. BFG's response is merely a corporate cya message. What you expect them to say? And last thing, Ill bet you in a very few days you will not see ANY BFG products being sold on gameve because they wont have any and nor will they be able to unless its blackmarket.

Bucksnort, you are awfully pissed off for a guy who didn't even buy from GameVE. How about laying off the racism and chilling out?
Anyway, in case anyone is worried about BFG's quality control, here's my story in a nutshell: I got a card DOA from newegg, but I sent them and BFG polite complaint letters. BFG was kind enough to offer me an advance RMA free of charge. Assuming that the card works out, I will be quite satisfied.

I'm not so sure it's a bad batch of cards from BFG. People were getting cards that when tested, showed that they did not have the original bios--that is, somebody had already tried to flash them to 5950's. I don't see how rma's to bfg would have accidentally been sent to gamve.

What the hell? ENPC.com's price for the 5900 just sky rocketed, now at $261! That's insane, I hope it's a mistake, because I was planning on getting one tomorrow, and I don't want to go through gameeve.com. I now wish newegg had them in stock.

Was this purchase from Newegg???

Andy....

Well its all very confusing.. but It all worked out in the end...

I bought from Newegg, did not get CD of CoD then emailed them about it. To make sure someone replied to me, I sent emails to both Sales and Complaints..

Well I got a reply, which told me to goto a link to if I wanted to tget the game cd. I went to the link and it led to eVGA.com's offer to send a CoD cd to anyone who purchased "ANY FX5900 card" from a "qualified vendor". This lead to me belive they where doing it for all the vendors.. it was 2 - 3 week s to get it. I went as far as to fax them my invoice and everything.

But the more I thought about it, the more it made no since... so i called Newegg

Turns out someone in the Complaints department got my email and never replied... They have the CoD cd ready to ship to me Monday

I checked the site later and can see it in the Order Status page.. I am very happy

Well

I dunno... for $175 shipped, w/ CoD not a bad deal for a card that OCs to 480/1000.
Nice thread crap.

How does perhaps a few dozen bad experiences with the cards (or what appears to be questionable vendor practices) here and on other forums translate into BFG's 5900nu cards being junk? What sort of empirical evidence are you basing that statement on? How many thousands of 5900nu would you guess they've sold? There are other more plausible reasons that a manufacturer might drop prices on a product besides attempting to dump junk onto the market (and thereby gain the resulting reputation from doing so).

In light of the fact that BFG stands behind their cards with lifetime warranties and a demonstrated intent to do whatever it takes to make sure their customers get problems solved with as little pain as possible, I don't have any problem recommending people give them a look. I would however advise them to go with a vendor they feel comfortable with based on others' experiences and reseller ratings.
