Review of the card here, with pictures of what you get here (except you don't get the CoD game, but it shows the VIVO dongle).

Also GameVE just lowered their price to $176 (a whole dollar, whoppie!!!).

I'm very tempted to grab one of these. My GF4 is getting a little old and my backup system needs a better videocard.

For those of you who receive your cards in the next couple of days...please let the rest of us know if it has VIVO (and the cable) and 2.2 NS RAM.

Thank You very much!

I ordered one from GameVE and will report on it when it comes in. One thing I thought of after I ordered is how noisy the card might be with 2 fans running on it. Hopefully not bad, but we'll see when it gets here.

Yeah, let us know about the card when you get it. I'm thinking about ordering that one from GameVE myself.

Dont forget you need 12v connector from the PS to connect to 5900, and people have been receiving CoD with the FX5900 SE's from newegg at $188.

Ill take the faster speed and OCability (word?) over the free CoD disk though.
Plus the SE is more?

Im pretty sure all BFG 5900s have 2.2ns RAM, and it certainly is VIVO too.
QUiet? I dunno... 2 fans. Im sure its not silent, but Id be willing to bet its pretty nominal.

Seems BFG is starting to make a name for themselves in the vid card market.

Lots of people are, Billy, lots of people are. If you didn't have any major problems with Cat3.7, you may want to switch back to that version until the 4.x are fixed. Try that before giving up on the card.

But the enpc BFG 5900 for $179.49 shipped is pretty hot. I'm going to Fry's to verify that the plain vanilla BFG 5900 has VIVO. If it does, I'm ordering it. My $158 XFX 5900 (2.2ns version) works great, but I'll pay $20 extra for a ViVO upgrade.

Am I missing why ViVO is so great? What do people use it for.

PS: Ill buy your XFX 5900 off ya then

I just verified it at Fry's: the regular "ASLM5900" does have VIVO.

Homerboy: VIVO is nice to have just as a regular analog capture. If you add a tuner, like in a VCR, you can use video in as a TV or limited PVR (since you have to change the channel externally). No, you can't have my XFX 5900 2.2ns card for $158. I'll find another system for it. That card is a sweet overclocker.

Thanks, OP. I'm ordering a card now from enpc.com.

The SE is more because you are paying for CoD in addition to the price of the video card.

Neweggs SE is a better deal hands down, based on my research. Runs within a few frames of non SE 5900's, overclocks to match non SE, and comes with an excellent CoD game (not some old has been game) that is worth the $12 if you dont have it, and should be worth $20-$25 if you sell it to a friend who knows CoD is a great FPS. Plus Newegg has good seller ratings and handles RMA's competently for the most part.
Link to my basis for stating SE is close to non SE 5900 performance FX 5900CP is the same as FX5900 SE on this chart. Same clock speed.
here, slow to load, many pictures

But real 5900s (2.2ns) can overclock to 5950 speeds since they don't use 2.8ns memory like 5900SE/5900XT cards. If you're going to call a lesser card a deal because it overclocks, also consider that the other card can also overclock. My XFX 5900 (older 2.2ns model) overclocks to within a hair of a real 5950's clock speeds, but is actually faster in most things since it's using the tighter 5900's memory timings.

I don't care much for CoD, so $12 cheaper + VIVO is a much better deal for me. Anyways, newegg is in-state for me, so it's actually $24 more expensive, and I already have Ghost Recon.

Maybe that's why BFG gave VIVO, because they didn't include a bundle besides some Video Studio 7 SE (must have cost a whole $5). Even the cheaper $158AR/AC/AE XFX 5900 came with Ghost Recon, Comanche4 and Racing Sim 3 (Ubi-shovelware).

Can someone please confirm that they rec'd a BFG 5900 NU from GameVe for $177.00 (including shipping) and it came with 2.2 NS RAM and VIVO (with cable).

With the various posts AND the various sites reportedly selling the SAME card, I just want to make sure I'll get all the things I'm expecting to include the out-the-door price.

Thanks Everyone for your information/input!

ALL of the BFG 5900s use 2.2ns memory, otherwise they'd be SE\XT models, and they ALL come with a VIVO cable (assuming it's a retail package).
