Yesterday the card was listed on NewEgg, OOS, w/ ETA 1/21/2004. Today it says OOS, ETA 1/26/2004. NewEgg doesn't bs when it comes to being in stock or not. Much to their credit.

I snagged one of these cards on mon from gameve, it shipped on tuesday.
You must have gotten your order in before me. I have no beef with a company taking an order on an 'out of stock' item, but when they say they are 'in stock' when they aren't, that gets me kinda po'd.

UPdate. Well my card HAS been shipped. GameVE just forgot to notify me via email, or update my order status on the web. Otherwise, all is normal.

Is this the ridiculously huge card that takes up 2 slots and requires a molex connector? I also took a look at toms vga charts and saw in the end (the fbucks section) it places it right around a 9700 pro and 9800np, and for the price being about 175 and the 9700pro about 190-200 it seems the better deal with more mature drivers as well, but i dont want another huge, hot tsunami in my already loudass system.

Theres a guy in the for sale topic selling his 9700np for 165, might snag that instead cause i have some paypal.

from reading reviews and such it technically takes up 2 slots but you can squeeze a PCI card under it. They placed the extra back plate on it so that people wouldnt squeeze it in there and block airflow.

Ill take the little extra noise from a vid card so that it performs better when its summer time and the AC isnt on etc. I do mind noise, but I just keep my other parts nice and quiet as possible.

Cant wait to get mine now...

Would you guys take this BFG FX5900 for $175 or a Radeon 9800 Pro for $220 (Retail box, used)?

Depends on if you need VIVO...I don't think any 9800's (except AIW) come with VIVO. Unless the 9800's come with VIVO and don't list the feature as is the case with this BFG 5900 NU.

To WebDude:

When did they ship yours when you ordered on Monday? Please update when you receive it. I ordered one last night and still not shipped yet or at least so the web site says.

They shipped it on Tuesday, which is pretty good. Their only slip-up was not notifying me by email that it had shipped, or updating the status of my order to "shipped' on their web site. Otherwise I've got no complaints.

Does the BFG card come with 2.2ns memory from a retail package that has the COD picture on it? I know EVGA uses 2.8ns in the COD bundle which makes me wonder if BFG followed the same strategy. LMK. Thanks.

Got my card in. Has the VIVO dongle, and DVI to VGA converter plug. I'm running now with 2 monitors. Seems like a very nice card. I'll have to benchmark it to see how it does. Can't hear the fans -- very quiet.

Funny no one mention the cool blue lights that come off the cooling fans. Don't know how I lived without that before!

Thanks

Well in my opinion, the BFG is cheaper and runs faster than the EVGA 5900SE out of the gate. Accordoing to reviews and other threads Ive read, the BFG can OC pretty decently (too lazy to dig up threads... do search).

The BFG5900nu at $175 from newegg.com is a damn good deal, if not the best deal out there on a 5900x IMHO.

This is the BFG from newegg? (this thread has been bouncing up and back it seems)
If so...
2.2ns memory?
CoD disk?
Noise?

I emailed Newegg customer service and they confirmed it does come with the Call of Duty disc in the box. From all the review sites the noise is not bad at all on the BFG card, and they come with the 2.2ns memory and are good overclockers to ultra speeds. Don't forget to add your customer appreciation gift if ordering from Newegg. Can't beat Newegg's customer service, an easy overclockable card to ultra speeds, a free gift and Call of Duty hehe I just had to order =)

Oh yeah! I keep forgetting to add that... 1 XL newegg.com t-shirt for free too!
Sweet detective work CrazyGamer... Ive played CoD all the way through already 3 times, but want to play online and you *ahem* need a unique key to do so.

Jonesin' for my BFG now.

FYI I did start a new thread for the newegg.com offer:

I'm considering the VIVO as an extra. I don't need it at the moment.

Dang shoulda waited and ordered from NewEgg. I would love to have the CoD. Oh well (sigh). When I ordered from GameVE I did check NewEgg, and at the time (Monday) they didn't even list the card. Who can I beat up to get the CoD cd? (And how do I check for 2.2ns mem without removing the heat sink?)
