BFG GeForce 6800 GT stable with Doom 3?

I've picked the BFG GF6800GT over the X800 since it generally seems to outperform it, but was wondering if this version is stable with Doom3 ?

The reason I ask is cause the general view from ID Software is that overclocking your card on Doom3 is a very bad idea, but what if the card is O/C'd outa the box like the BFG?

Does the BFG run Doom3 stable ?

Don't worry BFG knows what they are doing that card is gonna go a long way man

Doom 3 only tends to show up OC's that are right on the limit in the first place.

I finished Doom 3 with my BFG 6800GT with no problems.

Still runs without artifacts at 420/1100 so don't worry

I run my BFG GT@431/1.1ghz in D3 and it is buttery smooooth. I'm not running dual monitors anymore though so I don't know the in-game card temps, but immediately after exiting it's 63c so I would think maybe another 10c in game.

my gt running at 410/1150 heats up to 75C when under load
but that's before i open up my case and put a big fan blowing on it
now the gt idles at 54C and CPU idles at 25C
when under load....my gt only gets up to 60C and CPU at 40C....both maxed
if you ask me....i'd say buying a big fan from kmart is better than buying the new line of silencer
the fan helps keep my whole system cool and it costed me only 10 dollars

The supplier I was going to buy this card from can't get it in for about 6 weeks, I can't wait that long.

Can anyone supply me their homepage, cause believe it or not I can't find it. Do you think there is any chance they will tell me where I could locate one in the UK ? Or does anyone else know where I could locate one in the UK?

An extra £80 for the Ultra version is a stretch too far :-(

My BFG 6800gt played D3 @ 425/1150 with no problems, but I keep it at 400/1100 because I didn't notice any performance increase at that speed.

ok now your just teasing, since I'm not getting a BFG now :-O

It seems BFGs are VERY hard to come by in the UK

I found the site (eventually, BFGTech.com), and it seems that under the where to buy section that there is only one UK supplier of BFG, which is quite depressing. But it also seems that the US and Canadian suppliers are all sold out as well, they must be sellin' quicker that BFG can make em'.

Anyways, can some1 tell me if a GeForce 6800 GT from another make is much slower ?, since it is not O/C'd ? I would settle for a 256DDR GT if the performance difference between it and the BFG model wasn't substantially different.
